My left eye hurts every time I blink

My left eye hurts every time I blink

The various symptoms that appear in the human body may not be caused by direct reasons. For example, sometimes people’s sore throats may be caused by getting angry. Headaches are not caused by brain diseases but by colds and fevers. Stomach pain is not caused by gastrointestinal diseases but by eating bad food. There are many such situations. Many people say that sometimes their left eye hurts when they blink, and they wonder if there is something wrong with their eyes. Let's learn about it together~

The pain when you blink is caused by conjunctivitis. In life, some people's eyes are very sensitive and cannot stand the slightest stimulation. Sometimes when they encounter some strong light, their eyes will feel very uncomfortable, which is likely to cause conjunctivitis, resulting in pain when you blink.

Sometimes, we don’t pay much attention to it in our daily lives, and sometimes some dust or smoke gets into our eyes. Some people’s eyes are more sensitive and will react to these things, which can easily cause keratitis, resulting in pain in the eyes when blinking.

It is easy to catch a cold in the spring. If you do not pay attention to hygiene, and spring is a season when people are prone to influenza, some bacteria can easily infect the eyes and cause conjunctivitis, which can cause pain in the eyes when you blink.

1. Causes of eye pain

1. Ophthalmic diseases: The most common disease causing eye pain is inflammatory stimulation. Since our eyes are often open, when the body's immunity decreases, external bacteria or viruses can easily enter our eyes, causing eye inflammation and pain. Glaucoma caused by increased intraocular pressure can also cause severe eye pain. In addition, when an eye tumor presses on the eyeball, eye pain will also occur, and this pain is often persistent.

2. Eye trauma: Although the eyeball is protected by the eyelids, we have to open our eyes to see things during the day. Therefore, when danger strikes, the eyes are very likely to be "the first to be hit." When an eye is injured, there is usually severe pain in the eye, accompanied by bleeding, blurred vision, or protective closure of the eye.

3. Foreign body stimulation: The sensory system of the eye is very sensitive. As the saying goes, "You can't tolerate any sand in your eyes," it describes the eye's low tolerance to foreign bodies.

4. Nervous system diseases: The sensation of the eyes is controlled by the ophthalmic branch (optic nerve) of the trigeminal nerve. Therefore, when trigeminal neuralgia occurs, it is also accompanied by eye pain.

5. Drug poisoning: The eyes are rich in blood vessels and have adequate blood supply. When some drugs are used in excess and lead to poisoning, it is very easy to cause eye discomfort and even become the earliest sign of drug poisoning. Aminopyrine is a commonly used antipyretic drug. When it is overdose, it will cause binocular vision impairment, severe eye pain, red and swollen eyelids, difficulty closing the eyelids, small red drug rashes on the skin; conjunctival congestion, herpetic conjunctivitis; corneal infiltration and turbidity, corneal epithelial detachment in the form of small bubbles; dilated pupils, and optic nerve atrophy can be seen in the fundus.
