Scars on the skin can have a very negative impact on appearance, especially in more obvious areas. These scars can make many people lose confidence, so most patients will use a variety of scar removal substances when scars appear. Not every scar removal substance is effective, and everyone's skin healing degree is different. So what should we do when facing raised scars? Generally, scars have a proliferation period of about half a year to a year. If the scar is protruding, it means that the scar is proliferating, which makes the skin look particularly ugly. So how to treat the protruding scars? Let’s first understand raised scars. Normal scars in the proliferative stage, raised scars and keloids all have local pain and itching in the scar. Therefore, we must first clarify and distinguish the period and nature of the scar, and then treat the pain and itching caused by it in a targeted manner. If the pain and itching of the scar occurs within three months after the wound heals, and the patient's wounds have healed well in the past, it is the normal hyperplasia stage of the scar. This condition may not be treated, or some local external application medications, such as triamcinolone cream, may be added, and the pain and itching will disappear naturally after half a year. If the scar protrudes from the epidermis, is painful and itchy, continues to worsen and develop after three months, and becomes hard and brown in color, but the scar does not expand and grow outward and there is no history of scar hyperplasia, this is generally a protruding scar. Regarding the issue of how to treat raised scars, generally mild raised scars can be compressed with an elastic bandage and supplemented with medication; severe raised scars can be surgically removed and then compressed with an elastic bandage and supplemented with medication. Generally, the symptoms will subside on their own after one year. However, if a scar continues to grow and increase in size, it is called a keloid. Keloids can occur in people with scar-prone constitutions as well as in normal people. Keloids are generally not suitable for surgical treatment because the scars that heal after surgical removal will be larger, and the use of elastic bandages to compress such scars is often ineffective. For this type of scar, a comprehensive treatment plan should be developed by a specialist as soon as possible. Scars are higher than the skin and are painful and itchy, which makes many people very nervous, especially worrying that they have a scar-prone physique. In fact, less than one thousandth of the population is prone to scarring. Most scars can be controlled as long as they are treated correctly. |
