People do not necessarily need intravenous drip when they have a fever. Most people will try physical therapy at home to see if it is effective, or take a bath to lower the body temperature. Alcohol wiping can also relieve the symptoms well. However, many people find it difficult to reduce the fever in a short period of time, and the fever reaches a very high temperature, so they need to be treated with intravenous drip. How many days do you usually receive intravenous drips for a fever? It is not necessary to have intravenous treatment when you have a fever. If intravenous treatment is needed, it should be analyzed in combination with the patient's condition. If the fever is caused by some serious bacterial infection, some sensitive antibiotics can be selected for anti-infection treatment. If it is a viral infection, intravenous treatment is usually not required, nor is there a need to use antibiotics for symptomatic treatment. Physical cooling can be performed during the fever. If it is pneumonia, gallstones, cholecystitis or other bacterial infections, in addition to antibiotic treatment, it may be necessary to combine other treatment methods. Cold compress This method is simple and easy. Apply a cold towel to the forehead, then soak the towel in cold water after it becomes hot and apply it again. Using a cold water bag or ice pack is more effective than applying a cold towel to the forehead. Bathing method Undress the patient, rub the whole body with a towel and warm water (about 37°C) or take a bath. This can dilate the blood vessels in the patient's skin and dissipate the body gas. In addition, when water vapor evaporates from the body surface, it will also absorb body heat. Take a bath for about 10 to 15 minutes each time, about once every 4 to 6 hours. Warm alcohol bath method For alcohol bath, mix 70% alcohol with 1/1 tap water, or 75% alcohol with 1/2 water, or you can mix Erguotou liquor with 1/4 water, and put them in a small bowl. When taking a sponge bath, close the doors and windows, dip gauze or a soft towel in the alcohol in the bowl, and wipe the palms of the hands, soles of the feet, armpits, inner sides of the upper arms, chest and thighs. The temperature of the diluted water should be about 37-40℃, then wipe the limbs and back; if you wipe directly with alcohol, you will feel uncomfortable or even convulse. Cool towel wiping method Use a slightly cool towel (about 25 degrees) to wipe your forehead and face. This helps to dissipate heat and achieve a cooling effect. Drink plenty of water and add or remove clothing appropriately It helps to sweat. In addition, water has the function of regulating temperature, which can lower body temperature and replenish water lost in the body. If your limbs are cold and you are shivering violently (chills), it means you need warmth, so you should cover yourself with a blanket; if your limbs and hands and feet are warm and you are sweating all over, it means you need to dissipate heat, so you can wear less clothes. |
