This is something that every woman must go through in her life. Many women do not know what their bodies need to go through in the earliest stages of pregnancy because it is their first pregnancy, so they naturally understand some of the manifestations of pregnancy. In fact, for the situation of hcg injections, it is still necessary to find the right direction in how to relieve it in daily life. If such a problem occurs, regular check-ups should be done. What does hcg mean? HCG stands for human chorionic gonadotropin, which is composed of α and β dimers of glycoprotein. After a woman becomes pregnant, the hCG originally present in her blood and urine will fluctuate as the gestational age increases. Therefore, whether a woman is pregnant can be determined based on the changes in hCG. The human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) test is currently the most advanced pregnancy test. Common test methods include blood hCG test and urine hCG test. This test determines whether a woman is pregnant by checking the presence of β-subunits in the blood and urine. 1. Human 1. Human chorionic gonadotropin Chorionic gonadotropin stimulation test Human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) is a hormone secreted by the human chorionic placenta. Some scholars have determined that HCG begins to be secreted by the placental trophoblastic cells from the 8th day after conception, HCG can be detected in the urine 20 days after conception, the HCG concentration in urine increases 45 days after conception, and reaches a peak at 60-70 days. The level then decreases, reaching its lowest level at 18 weeks of gestation and disappearing completely about 4 days after delivery. HCG can promote the secretion of a small amount of testosterone from the testicles of male fetuses, which is closely related to the development of the male fetus's accessory sexual organs. Although HCG has dropped to a very low level at the end of pregnancy, the mature testicles are able to secrete testosterone, which is enough to make the testicles descend normally. Since HCG can promote the secretion of estrogen and ovulation in female ovaries, this drug is often used clinically to treat infertility. HCG can be collected from the urine of pregnant women, purified, and then made into an injection for clinical application. In clinical practice, HCG stimulation tests are performed on male patients as needed to check whether the testicular tissue in the body has secretory function. The test method is to take a blood sample first, then inject HCG1,000-5,000 international units. The first blood sample is taken on the 4th day after the injection, and the second intramuscular injection of HCG2,000 international units is given. The second blood sample is taken on the 7th day. The three blood samples are taken for plasma testosterone determination. If the test result is positive, it indicates that the testicular tissue in the body has secretory function. If the test result is low, cryptorchidism or primary testicular insufficiency should be considered. If the reaction is negative, no contrary conclusion can be drawn immediately. The purpose of checking changes in HCG in the urine of female patients is to diagnose diseases such as early pregnancy, hydatidiform mole and choriocarcinoma. |
