Varicose veins are a very common disease in daily life. It not only causes great harm to the patient's physical health, but also seriously affects their normal life and work. Sometimes varicose veins even cause symptoms of swollen feet, so it is particularly important to find a scientific and effective treatment method. It is generally divided into two methods: conservative treatment and surgical treatment. You need to choose the appropriate one according to the patient's physical condition. 1. Symptoms of varicose veins 1. The surface blood vessels are varicose like earthworms, obviously protruding from the skin, and the varicose blood vessels are in the shape of masses or nodules; 2. There is a feeling of soreness and swelling in the legs, pigmentation, desquamation, itching on the skin, and edema in the feet and ankles; 3. Strange sensations in the limbs, such as tingling, itching, numbness, or burning sensation; 4. The epidermal temperature rises, with pain and tenderness; 5. Local gangrene and ulcers. (II) The hazards of varicose veins 1. Edema Due to venous reflux, patients often experience edema in the affected limb that is mild in the morning and severe in the evening. 2. Skin Pigmentation Long-term venous hypertension leads to increased capillary permeability in the calf area, causing red blood cells to rupture after exudation, and hemoglobin to be deposited under the skin, causing the skin to darken, developing from dots to flakes. 3. Bleeding The skin in the area where varicose veins pass is very fragile due to lack of nutrition. If you are not careful, it can easily lead to varicose vein rupture and cause heavy bleeding. Since bleeding is often not accompanied by other symptoms such as pain, patients often do not notice it. If it occurs at night while sleeping, it will lead to very serious consequences. 4. Ulcers The most common consequence of varicose veins is that varicose veins cause changes in skin nutrition, leading to the occurrence of ulcers. This type of ulcer can be long-lasting and cause local foul smell and pus discharge, which can have a serious impact on daily life. 5. Venous thrombosis Some patients may develop blood clots in the varicose superficial veins, which manifests as local redness, swelling, pain, lump formation, and pain that affects walking. If not treated promptly, the thrombus may spread upward or through the communicating veins to the deep veins, causing deep vein thrombosis and the risk of life-threatening pulmonary embolism. (III) Treatment of varicose veins and swollen feet 1. Conservative treatment Conservative treatment includes wearing elastic stockings to apply pressure. Then use some medicines, such as drugs to improve venous function, such as horse chestnut seed extract and Chinese medicine Si Miao Wan to improve local symptoms. 2. Surgical treatment For the treatment of venous insufficiency, minimally invasive methods are often used, including laser, radiofrequency ablation, and sclerotherapy, as well as the traditional surgical method of extraction. The method chosen depends on the severity of the patient's lesions, the reflux condition, the varicose lesions, and the patient's requirements. Choose different methods according to different ages, different conditions and different severity of the disease. |
