2Thyroid nodules

Even if a thyroid tumor is a malignant tumor, it can be completely cured.

A lump found in the middle of the neck may be caused by the thyroid gland. Most thyroid lumps are benign lesions, including nodular goiter, thyroid adenoma, subacute thyroiditis, endemic goiter, etc. Malignant changes are thyroid cancer, but there is no need to panic. Even malignant thyroid tumors can be completely cured, and some people can even live with the tumor for their entire lives.

Place your hands on the Adam's apple (for men) or a position similar to the Adam's apple and swallow. If there is a lump in the thyroid gland, you can usually feel it.

Thyroid lumps need to be diagnosed through B-ultrasound examination and blood test for seven thyroid function tests, or through a puncture biopsy. The main treatment is surgical resection, and malignant tumors may also require subsequent iodine-131 treatment.

3. Lymph node masses

If a lymph node mass without any symptoms is hard and has poor mobility, malignant lymphoma may be suspected.

Lumps are found on both sides of the neck, which are the lymph nodes. Lumps in the lymph nodes can be divided into benign and malignant.

The nature of the lymph nodes can be preliminarily determined through B-ultrasound examination. Generally, a lymph node puncture biopsy or removal of the entire lymph node for biopsy and pathological examination is required to make a clear diagnosis. Benign lymphoma only requires treatment of the primary disease and does not require treatment of swollen lymph nodes. Malignant lymphoma requires targeted treatment based on diagnosis.

Therefore, you can touch your neck, armpits, groin, etc. more often to check your lymph nodes. If you find a painless, hard, fixed, and rough lymph node mass, you should pay attention to it.

Generally speaking, children are more prone to acute lymphadenitis. For example, the lymph nodes in the head and neck will swell when they have a cold. However, swollen lymph nodes are also common even when the body is not infected. Clinically, puncture and other examinations are performed on such children and it is found that it is just common lymphadenitis, which can be ignored.

If young people suddenly develop swollen lymph nodes, it may be due to tuberculosis infection. If there is an infection in the lungs, it is tuberculosis and you should be careful to avoid infection. If it is just simple lymphadenopathy, it is not contagious.

Swollen lymph nodes in the armpits and elbows, especially when they are the size of an egg, are likely a sign of cat scratch disease, a bacterial infection caused by a previous scratch on the hands or upper limbs by a cat or dog. This disease should be treated promptly, otherwise it may take more than half a year to recover, which will cause psychological panic.

If you can feel swollen lymph nodes in your armpits, you should be alert to breast cancer metastasis or malignant lymphoma. They also require puncture or resection for pathological examination to confirm the diagnosis. Targeted treatment should be given based on the clear diagnosis.
