What should I do if I have myopia during the military physical examination

The vision examination standards are extremely strict. For example, the ground physical examination requires that the right eye of junior high school education personnel should be no less than 4.9, and the left eye should be no less than 4.8; the right eye of high school education personnel should be no less than 4.7, and the left eye should be no less than 4.5; the right eye of college education personnel should be no less than 4.6, and the left eye should be no less than 4.5, without any method! Fortunately, the newly revised military examination standards stipulate that if there are no complications from excimer laser surgery and the vision meets the specified standards, the person is qualified.

So what should we do?

1. Myopia surgery should be prepared in advance

Myopia surgery is not as simple as getting a pair of glasses, it requires preparation in advance. It is understood that, on the one hand, laser myopia surgery has a certain correction range and indication range, and is not suitable for everyone; on the other hand, there are many precautions before and after myopia surgery, and preparations need to be made in advance. For example, patients who wear contact lenses on a daily basis are generally required to stop wearing them for a week before preoperative examination; strict preoperative examination, myopia surgery cannot be performed if any test result fails; it is also necessary to start using anti-inflammatory eye drops a few days in advance before surgery; those with other eye symptoms need to be cured before myopia surgery, and it also takes a certain amount of time for vision to return to stable state after surgery. Therefore, only by making arrangements in advance can we determine in time whether surgery is possible, and only then can those who undergo surgery be guaranteed a good postoperative recovery effect.

2. It is not advisable to "cram at the last minute" when undergoing myopia surgery

Many myopic young people think that there is still enough time before the military conscription physical examination, so they can have the surgery closer to the time. In fact, this is not recommended. During the annual conscription physical examination, many students who "cram" for the exam go for surgery. Although this can correct myopia, it often does not achieve what these students want. Therefore, although you can use your eyes normally the next day after myopia surgery, you still need ample time to recover. The earlier the surgery is performed, the longer the recovery time will be, the better the effect will be, and you will naturally have more advantages during physical examinations.

3. Although the myopia surgery process is fast, it takes time for vision to stabilize

Myopic patients who are preparing for military conscription, military academy entrance exams, or civil service examinations should now consider preparing for myopia surgery. Having the surgery in advance will allow them more time to stabilize their vision. If an eye examination reveals any eye diseases such as acute conjunctivitis, blepharitis, keratitis, corneal ulcer, dacryocystitis, iridocyclitis, etc., the related eye diseases must be cured before myopia surgery can be performed. Therefore, students who want to be enlisted in the army, take the civil service exam, or apply for military academy should go to the hospital for a preoperative examination now to ensure that the surgery can go smoothly in the future. Otherwise, they may miss the opportunity because they cannot have the surgery immediately due to some eye problems.
