Causes of migratory back pain

Causes of migratory back pain

Due to work, study and other reasons, many people need to sit in front of the computer for a long time, usually seven or eight hours, and various illnesses follow. Among them, migratory back pain has become a distressing problem for some people. Why does migratory back pain occur without any exercise? In fact, there are many reasons for this symptom. Some people have been inactive for a long time and may feel better by stretching their muscles and bones. However, some people suffer from long-term pain and need to see a doctor for treatment.

Causes of migratory back pain

1. Migratory back pain caused by cervical spondylosis

How can cervical spondylosis cause migratory pain in the back when it occurs in the cervical spine? Little do people know that the posterior branches of the crestal nerves of the fourth, fifth, and sixth cervical vertebrae extend to the back and control the skin and muscles of the upper back.

When degenerative changes occur in the cervical spine, if the posterior branches of the crestal nerves of the fourth, fifth, and sixth cervical vertebrae are pulled, back pain will occur.

In fact, neck and back pain, upper limb weakness, numbness of fingers, dizziness, nausea, and even blurred vision and swallowing are all symptoms of cervical spondylosis.

2. Migratory back pain caused by frozen shoulder

Frozen shoulder can cause shoulder joint pain. As the disease progresses, the pain range will continue to increase, and some patients will experience migratory pain in the back.

3. Migratory back pain caused by ankylosing spondylitis

Patients with ankylosing spondylitis will experience chronic generalized or persistent low back pain, tenderness over the spinous processes, stiffness in the back and waist after getting up in the morning, aggravated pain in the back and waist when leaning back, improvement after activity, and fatigue after standing or walking for a long time.

Patients often present with limited movement of the lower back and waist. Physical examination may reveal tenderness of the lumbar spinous processes and paraspinal muscle spasms. In the later stages, muscle atrophy and even kyphosis may occur.

4. Back pain caused by respiratory system

Many respiratory diseases such as pleural adhesions, lung cancer and tuberculosis may also cause shoulder and back pain, but usually in the back, side back or scapula.

5. Referred pain caused by visceral diseases

Gynecological pelvic diseases, prostate diseases, etc. can cause lower back pain. Kidney diseases such as stones, renal ptosis, pyelonephritis and retroperitoneal diseases such as abscesses and hematomas can cause low back pain. Hepatofemoral and heart diseases can cause back pain.

Common sense for preventing back pain

1. Back and abdominal exercises are equally important

Gymnastics and stretching exercises can help improve back health. You can do more low-intensity exercises, such as walking and swimming, but butterfly stroke will also put pressure on the back muscles and is not suitable for people with back pain. Weightlifting, basketball, etc. are also not suitable for people with back pain. In addition, when exercising, in addition to focusing on strengthening the back muscles, you should also strengthen your abdominal muscles to provide better support for the back.

2. Bend your knees when bending over or lifting heavy objects

When you bend over, the back is put under the greatest stress. When picking up or lifting something, it is best to bend your knees so that the force is mainly concentrated on the legs rather than the back. In addition, it is best to keep your legs apart, your back straight, and keep the weight as close to your body as possible to reduce back pressure.

If you usually carry a heavy backpack, you should make sure to frequently switch the shoulder that bears the force.

3. Wear less tight pants

Wearing tight pants frequently will cause the abdominal muscles to become loose, which is not conducive to supporting the back. Also, high heels will increase the burden on the back, so women should wear high heels less often. The heels should not exceed 2.5 cm and should not be too high.

4. Maintain a normal weight

Being overweight can compress the back muscles.
