Asymptomatic high fever with no cause found

Asymptomatic high fever with no cause found

When treating an illness, the most important thing is to treat the symptoms. Only in this way can the root cause of the disease be completely eradicated and the patient no longer has to endure the pain of the illness. As for symptoms like fever, the cause is usually unknown. Of course, if you want to know the detailed reasons, you have to go to the hospital for treatment and undergo certain examinations if necessary, so that you can finally determine the cause of the high fever.

1. Introduction to high fever symptoms

Fever is a form of reaction of the body to harmful stimuli. A certain degree of fever can awaken the body's resistance, improve its own disease resistance, and is beneficial to recovery from the disease. A fever in the human body shows that the human body is resistant and reactive to harmful external stimuli.

2. What are the possible causes of high fever?

Clinically, fever is a very common symptom of disease, which refers to a phenomenon in which our body temperature is high. Clinically, men, women, young and old may have fever symptoms, but each of us has different situations. Generally, the causes of fever are as follows. It is recommended that patients choose the examination items according to the cause:

1. Upper respiratory tract infection is one of the causes of fever. Diseases such as colds, tonsillitis, pneumonia, and meningitis are often accompanied by symptoms such as runny nose, cough, sore throat, headache, and even coma. Clinically, blood tests are required for such patients to confirm the type of bacteria that infects them. If necessary, patients need to undergo X-rays or CT scans.

2. Gastrointestinal diseases are also one of the causes of fever. For example, diseases such as acute gastritis, enteritis and dysentery may cause abnormal bowel movements, unbearable abdominal pain and fever. Clinically, such diseases require abdominal color ultrasound and routine stool examinations to determine the degree of development of bacteria and gastrointestinal diseases.

3. Gynecological inflammatory infection or combined urethritis can also cause fever. If the patient has cysts or pelvic masses, acute abdomen is likely to occur, leading to fever. In this case, the patient needs to undergo color ultrasound, secretion testing, and urine routine examinations.

3. Preventive measures for high fever

1. Keep the indoor temperature between 21℃ and 23℃;

2. Let the child rest in bed, open the blanket or take off excess clothing;

3. Give the child frequent cold water or cool drinks, 250 ml a night;

4. If the temperature is higher than 39°C, cold compresses should be applied to the forehead of the child with a cold wet towel or ice pack. Repeated changes are necessary to help dissipate heat.

5. Use warm water sponge bath, place the child in warm water 4℃ to 6℃ lower than body temperature for 5 to 10 minutes, then wipe the whole body dry with a large towel and gently massage the skin until it turns red; you can also use 32℃ to 34℃ warm water (preferably water that is not hot enough for the skin on the inside of an adult's wrist) to bathe the child, focusing on scrubbing the forehead, neck, armpits, groin and limbs. The entire sponge bath time is 10 to 15 minutes, until the child's temperature drops to 38℃.
