The rove beetle is a very poisonous creature. Its poison does not just stay in its body, but every part of its body surface is poisonous. The only good thing is that although it is poisonous, it is not fatal. The skin damage caused by rove beetles will have an incubation period of less than 2 days. Slowly, irregular erythema like edema will appear locally, and then it will slowly ulcerate, and the ulcerated part will experience pain and burning sensation. Each segment of the poisonous rove beetle's body contains toxins. When it stays on the skin and is pressed or slapped or crushed, it releases strong acidic venom (pH 1-2) that burns the skin. After an incubation period of several hours to 2 days, skin damage may occur, causing rove beetle dermatitis. Although poisonous rove beetles can cause disease, they generally do not kill people. The best thing to do when you find a rove beetle crawling on your skin is to gently blow it away or use something else to pick it off. If the poisonous rove beetle only crawls across the skin, generally speaking there will not be any big problems. However, it is still recommended to immediately rinse the body parts that have come into contact with the poisonous rove beetle with soapy water (which can neutralize the acid and alkali of the venom) to avoid secondary contact between the skin and the venom. If the skin feels uncomfortable, it should be treated as rove beetle dermatitis. How to tell if you have pederinosis Its main manifestations are local appearance of strip-shaped, flaky or dot-shaped edematous erythema, accompanied by dense papules, blisters and pustules, followed by erosion, scab and epidermal necrosis; if the area that comes into contact with the venom of the rove beetle is on the eyelids or vulva, there will be obvious swelling, itching, burning pain and burning sensation. The severity of these symptoms varies from person to person. The total course of the disease is about 1 week, and temporary pigmentation may remain after recovery. Where are rove beetles mainly distributed? It is available in every province. Rove beetles breed in humid places, such as the edges of freshwater lakes, ditches, ponds, river floodplains, weeds, and rice, corn and other crop fields. It is active during the day, often crawling on the stems and leaves of crops or weeds, and runs very fast when frightened. It feeds on small insects, plant pollen, and decaying organic matter. It has obvious phototropism (especially to fluorescence). The brighter the light, the more insects it attracts. At the same time, it is also apt to fly upwards. Under the same conditions, rove beetles always like to fly high. It crawls very fast and once it flies into a room, it crawls all over the ceiling, walls, furniture, clothing surfaces, and human bodies, making people sick. Rove beetles that enter a room can remain hungry for several days, causing continuous damage to the human body. The frequency of nocturnal activities of rove beetles is affected by many factors such as temperature, wind direction, and light. |
