Correction of hooked nose

Correction of hooked nose

A hooked nose is a very ugly nose shape, which tends to be inherited in families. Some people may also develop a hooked nose due to nasal bone injury. The nose is located in a relatively prominent position on our face. The existence of a hooked nose has a great impact on our facial appearance. The hooked nose can be corrected by hooked nose correction surgery. The effect of this surgery is very good. You can learn about it in detail and then decide whether to choose this method.

Indications

1. The lower part of the nasal bone is hump-like and widened.

2. The nasal septum cartilage is too long.

3. The lateral nasal cartilage and the medial crus of the alar cartilage are too long.

Surgical procedures

1. Incision

Make an arc-shaped incision between the lateral nasal cartilage and the alar cartilage in both nostrils, cut the aponeurosis between the cartilages, and make the bilateral incisions connected.

2. Stealth separation

Use small scissors to separate the alar cartilage, lateral nasal cartilage and surface tissue from the incision, and then use a periosteal peeler to separate the periosteum, reaching both sides of the nasal root to the frontal process of the maxilla.

3. Hump removal

Insert the nasal saw through the incision to saw off the excessively high nasal bone and lateral nasal cartilage that should be removed, and use a bone file to file the removed surface flat.

4. Narrowing the nasal dorsum

Use a nose saw to cut off the frontal processes of the maxilla on both sides at the junction of the external nose and the face, press from the outside to the inside with your fingers to create a fracture, so that the nasal bones and nasal cartilages on both sides can be closed again and the nasal skeleton can be reshaped.

5. Lower nose surgery

The incision is extended inward to separate the front end of the septal cartilage. The corresponding septal cartilage is removed according to the preoperative measurement. Part of the upper edge of the alar cartilage can also be removed as needed.

6. Suture

After the operation, check whether there are any bone fragments left in the wound and suture the incision.

complication

1. Bone structure deformities, including saddle nose formation, nasal asymmetry, and stepped nose bridge deformity.

2. Deformity of the nasal dorsum cartilage structure may cause distortion of the nasal dorsum.

3. Deformities of the nose tip, which may include asymmetric nose tip, square nose tip, drooping nose tip or upward nostrils.

Postoperative Care

1. After surgery, you should take a semi-sitting position and get up and move around 1 to 2 days later.

2. Take oral antibiotics for 3 days after surgery.

3. Eat liquid and semi-liquid food after surgery.

4. After the operation, you should be careful to protect your nose from external force.

5. The sutures will be removed approximately 1 week after surgery, but fixation should be maintained for 2 weeks.

6. There may be bruising and swelling at first, which will disappear quickly.
