What kind of bras should pregnant women wear?

Every woman has to wear a bra regularly, but in life, many women do not know how to choose a bra that suits them. In fact, there are many things to pay attention to when choosing a bra. Especially once women become pregnant, the hormones in their bodies will change greatly, their abdomen will bulge, and their breasts will also increase, so the bra they wore before may no longer be worn, but they need to choose a bra suitable for pregnant women.

Changing bras

Stage 1: It is important to know that generally, expectant mothers will experience noticeable changes in their bodies three months after becoming pregnant. So you can continue to wear your previous bra in the first three months, but try to choose comfortable fabrics.

Stage 2: When the pregnancy enters the third month, the breasts will be about one cup size larger than usual, and then in the last few months of pregnancy, the breasts will be another cup size larger.

Stage 3: The most obvious changes in the breasts occur a few days after delivery, because the secretion of hormones that produce breast milk surges, causing the mammary glands to swell noticeably, so fast that even pregnant women find it unbelievable. The swelling of the breasts also puts a burden on the pregnant woman's body, because the breasts of pregnant women will be one kilogram heavier than usual. The situation is more obvious for pregnant women with smaller breasts or those who are pregnant for the first time. During pregnancy, the breasts gain weight and the underparts become larger. It is best to wear a bra with a soft steel support. Without support, the growing breasts will sag, and the fibrous tissue in the breasts will be damaged and difficult to recover. In the later stages of pregnancy, the nipples become sensitive and fragile, and may secrete milk and sweat, so it is advisable to use breast pads to protect them. During the postpartum period and lactation period, breast pads can also help absorb excess milk secretion and keep the breasts comfortable.

Bra selection

1. Comfort

The most comfortable bra should fit snugly across the breast when worn. In order to adapt to the gradual enlargement of the breasts, you can choose an adjustable cup and bra straps with better elasticity. Of course, you need to leave some space for future breast development. And try to choose full cup or 3/4 cup styles.

2. Materials

Comfortable, sweat-absorbent and breathable cotton is the best material for bras. Even if you like sexy lace styles, you should temporarily abandon them to avoid causing skin allergies.

3. Shoulder straps

Try to choose comfortable wide shoulder straps. Bra straps should not be an obstacle to movement, especially if you are pregnant. You should no longer tolerate unnecessary restraint. A properly fitted bra strap should fit snugly around your shoulder blades; you can raise your arms or shrug your shoulders to see if it falls down too easily or causes any discomfort.

4. Support

Because of the sudden increase in breast size, choose a style with soft steel support to avoid sagging breasts.

5. Size

Most traditional measurement methods cannot be used when choosing pregnancy and nursing bras. Although there are usually professionals to measure the size of bras when you buy them, they may not be able to help you choose special bras, so it is best to go to some maternity and baby products stores to find professional sales staff for consultation and purchase.

Kind tips

Have multiple bras ready. Experts believe that pregnant mothers should prepare at least 2-3 bras so that they can be cleaned and replaced frequently, which is better for the health of the body and breasts.

Keep in mind that you may need to make additional trips during the last few weeks of pregnancy. Never buy a bra based on your estimated size in advance, because the size may not be suitable when you need it. So it is best to buy a bra when you feel that your current bra size is not suitable.

Experts do not recommend bras with wire support. Especially for breastfeeding mothers, the squeezing of the iron wire may cause milk leakage and may even cause blockage of the mammary ducts, so mothers must pay attention when choosing.
