How to deal with skin contusion

How to deal with skin contusion

In daily life, whether working or doing housework, everyone should protect themselves from getting hurt. Once injured, they should clean themselves in time to avoid infection and worsening of the wound. Skin contusions occur from time to time, but how to deal with them? It depends on the severity of the skin wound. If it is too serious, you can only seek medical attention immediately and ask the doctor to help suture it. If it is a minor wound, you can clean it and apply medicine to reduce inflammation.

The skin abrasion mentioned here refers to an open abrasion, that is, the skin or mucous membrane at the injured site is broken, the wound is connected to the outside world, and tissue fluid and blood often flow out of the wound.

The principle of treatment is to stop bleeding and treat the wound in time to prevent infection, stop bleeding first and then treat the wound.

Some common open soft tissue injuries are abrasions, cuts, puncture wounds, and lacerations.

Tools/Raw Materials

· Alcohol mercurochrome violet sterile gauze vaseline hydrogen peroxide tetanus antitoxin serum

Abrasions

1. 1

Shallow, small abrasions

Wash the wound with saline, disinfect the area around the wound with 75% alcohol, and apply red mercury or gentian violet locally. Generally, there is no need to bandage the wound, just expose it to the air, or apply sterile gauze.

Abrasions on joints

It is generally not exposed to the air because it will easily affect the movement of the joints after drying, and once an infection occurs, it will also easily affect the joints. (After the abrasions on the joints are disinfected, anti-inflammatory ointment or a variety of antibacterial ointments are usually applied, and then covered and bandaged with sterile gauze)

3. 3

Foreign matter in the wound

① If there are foreign objects such as coal slag, fine sand, soil, etc., wash them with saline solution

②If necessary, use a sterilized hard-bristled brush to clean the foreign matter.

③Use hydrogen peroxide (less irritating) to disinfect the wound and 75% alcohol (irritating) around the wound.

④Then cover the wound with Vaseline (lubricating effect) gauze

⑤ In severe cases, tetanus antitoxin serum should be injected and antibiotics should be given for treatment.

Rupture

1. 1

Among lacerations, lacerations on the head are the most common. When the wound is small, it can be sealed with adhesive or Band-Aid after disinfection. If the wound is large, bleeding should be stopped and the wound should be sutured. If the injury is serious, tetanus antitoxin serum should be injected and antibiotics should be given.

Stab wounds and cuts
