The skin is the organ that is most easily exposed to external dust and bacteria, so it is also easily harmed. The groin is a very private area, which can be easily scratched and sometimes cause inexplicable itching. A big reason for itching on the inner thigh is infection, like coming into contact with something unclean, such as athlete's foot fungus or dirty clothing; of course it could also be eczema or ringworm. 1. Tinea cruris: Tinea cruris is a fungus with the same etiology as athlete's foot. It usually grows at the base of the thigh, and some may spread to the scrotum. It manifests as island-shaped spots with clear boundaries and clear edges, and improves in the middle. It grows from small to large, and slowly spreads from the middle to the surrounding areas. Most of these people have severe athlete's foot or onychomycosis, or their family members have athlete's foot, etc., but underwear and socks are washed together, which can be contagious. This is relatively simple, and can be cured by applying some antifungal drugs such as terbinafine hydrochloride. 2. Eczema; this type is mostly caused by improper treatment of tinea cruris and other diseases, and is also related to the sensitivity of the skin itself; the scrotum is the hardest hit area for eczema, which is more serious than the legs, so it is clinically called scrotal eczema; scrotal eczema is the most stubborn of all types of eczema - because most topical drugs for treating eczema contain hormones, and hormones are prohibited for use on the scrotum; the author is accustomed to using compound phellodendron liquid plus traditional Chinese medicine for conditioning, which can be cured; it must be noted that in most cases of this type, there is a fungal infection, so antifungal drugs should be used in combination 3. Pruritus: This is the opposite of eczema. Eczema is more severe on the scrotum, while it is more obvious on the thighs. It manifests as dry skin on one or both thighs, obvious pores, severe itching, and some severe cases even bleed from scratching, with obvious scratch marks. It is especially obvious at night when the skin is heated after getting into bed. This is often related to excessive bathing or poor skin and spleen function. It can be treated with oral antipruritic drugs such as loratadine tablets, Chinese patent medicine skin itch granules, etc. It is not difficult to treat, but it must be used for at least one month. 4. Keratosis pilaris; manifested as small bumps, commonly known as chicken skin; most of these are accompanied by the same lesions on the upper arms and face; this type of disease is prone to itching, and often causes local skin pigmentation due to excessive scratching; the so-called dark inner thighs of many people are related to this; the treatment is mainly to apply exfoliating ointments and Chinese medicine conditioning; 5. Pityriasis rosea, which is rare. Generally, pityriasis rosea appears on the upper arms, chest, back and abdomen. However, a few people develop pityriasis rosea at the beginning of the disease, such as the thigh root and waist. Moreover, this type of pityriasis rosea heals slowly and the color is relatively dark. The treatment is mainly based on Chinese medicine. |
