What to do if pigmentation occurs after mole removal

What to do if pigmentation occurs after mole removal

In my country, physiognomy has a long history, which includes observing facial features through moles. Therefore, the location of moles has many meanings. For example, moles at the corners of the eyes represent peach blossoms, moles at the corners of the mouth represent a love of food, and moles on the eyebrows indicate that the person has lofty ambitions. However, when a black mole grows in a conspicuous position, it must be very disturbing, so many people will use certain methods to remove the mole. So what should you do if pigmentation persists after mole removal?

Mitigation methods

1. Keep the treated area as dry as possible for one week after mole removal. Dry it gently with a clean towel as soon as possible after washing or contact with water.

2. After mole removal treatment, the treated area should be avoided from sunlight to prevent sunburn and pigmentation. Especially within 20 days after the scab falls off, special attention should be paid to sun protection.

3. Pay attention to your diet and try to eat less sour and spicy foods, seafood, beef, mutton and other foods. Eat more foods containing vitamin C. You can also supplement vitamin C and vitamin E and take them according to the instructions.

4. Please do not scratch at will to avoid infection, which may lead to scars or pigmentation.

5. After mole removal treatment, a black scab will generally form on the applied area within 1-2 days, and the scab will fall off automatically in about 1-2 weeks. After the scab falls off, it is best if the skin where the scab falls off is white. If it is fresh red skin, the color will sometimes darken due to excessive sunlight exposure, and it will recover after a few months.

Prevention and treatment

You can also improve your skin tone through diet. For example, drink plenty of water, eat more vegetables and fruits, increase the intake of antioxidant foods, and consume more foods rich in vitamin C. Chemical experiments have shown that the series of reactions that form melanin are mostly oxidation reactions, but when vitamin C is added, the formation of melanin can be blocked. Therefore, eat more foods rich in vitamin C, such as sour jujube, fresh jujube, tomatoes, sea buckthorn, citrus, fresh green leafy vegetables, etc.

Medically, melanocytic nevus is a benign tumor and generally does not require treatment. For patients who want to remove melanin nevus, it is best to choose a dermatologist for treatment, which is more reliable. Commonly used treatment methods include surgical resection, laser therapy, and radiofrequency knife resection.

Precautions after mole removal

Do not let the wound get wet for three days

Getting the wound wet is probably allowed in any mole removal method, mainly to avoid wound infection and slow down wound healing. Therefore, in most cases, it is best not to get the mole-removing area wet. If possible, it is best to gently wipe the area without mole removal with a towel within seven days. And it is best not to use facial cleanser or skin care products after mole removal.

Avoid prolonged sun exposure

The sun is the natural enemy of the skin. Sun exposure will increase the deposition of melanin in the skin. It is best not to expose your skin to the sun for a long time on a normal basis, let alone if you have moles or scars? So it is best to wear sunscreen when going out.

Eat less spicy food, soy sauce, sweets, etc., and eat more vitamin C and crude fiber food

Food intake will chronically affect the condition of the skin. It does not mean that eating a little bit of some foods will lead to a poor effect of mole removal. Just don't eat too much or eat it often. Spicy food, irritating food, seafood, etc. may cause skin inflammation, and soy sauce, sweets, etc. may cause melanin deposition on the wound. Eating more foods containing vitamins C and E can accelerate metabolism and make the skin more beautiful.
