How to peel steamed chestnuts

In life, many people like to eat sugar-roasted chestnuts, and there are many small vendors selling sugar-roasted chestnuts on the streets. Tang Dynasty chestnuts are really a very good snack. They are not junk food like popcorn, which is harmful to the human body. Sugar-roasted chestnuts are harmful to the human body even if you eat a lot. But some people will fry chestnuts by themselves, so how do you peel the steamed chestnuts?

Six methods to peel chestnuts:

1. Hot water soaking method: Wash the raw chestnuts and put them in a container, add a little salt, immerse them in boiling water, and cover the pot. After 5 minutes, take out the chestnuts and cut them open, the chestnut skin will fall off along with the chestnut shell. This method of removing chestnut skin saves time and effort.

2. Stirring method with chopsticks: Cut the chestnuts in half, peel them and put them in a basin. Add boiling water and soak them for a while. Stir them with chopsticks and the chestnut skin will separate from the chestnut meat. The soaking time should not be too long, otherwise it will affect the nutritional content of the chestnuts.

3. Refrigerator freezing method: After the chestnuts are cooked, cool them down and put them in the refrigerator to freeze for two hours to separate the shell and the meat. This way, the chestnut skin can be peeled quickly and the chestnut meat remains intact.

4. Microwave heating method: Cut the shell of the raw chestnuts you bought with scissors, put them in the microwave and heat them at high temperature for 30 seconds, the skin and meat inside will automatically fall off. Before using this method to remove chestnut skins, be sure to cut open the shells, otherwise it may cause microwave malfunction.

5. Thermal expansion and contraction method: Use a knife to peel off the chestnut shells, put them into boiling water and cook for 3-5 minutes. After taking them out, immediately soak them in cold water for 3-5 minutes. It will be easy to peel off the chestnut shells and the taste will remain unchanged.

6. Sun exposure method: Place the raw chestnuts you want to eat in the sun for a day and the chestnut shells will crack. At this time, it is easy to peel off the chestnut shell and the thin skin inside, whether you peel them raw or cooked. But chestnuts that are ready for storage cannot be dried in the sun, because they cannot be preserved for a long time after drying.
