Complications of rabies

Complications of rabies

Any disease will cause some complications, and they are usually serious. Rabies is a relatively serious disease. The worst impact that can occur after rabies occurs is endangering human life. So if a person is accidentally bitten by a dog or scratched by other small animals. This is a very serious problem and should not be ignored, and rabies vaccination should be given promptly. Once rabies occurs, it is difficult to recover from treatment. So what are the complications of rabies?

1. First, let’s talk about what rabies is. Rabies, also known as mad dog disease and hydrophobia, is an acute viral infectious disease. The virus can attack the central nervous system and cause patients to have symptoms such as irritability, lack of appetite, difficulty breathing, and drowsiness. Most people are prone to this disease after being bitten by infected animals.

2. Through the understanding of rabies, rabies can mainly cause the following complications:

1. It will cause the patient's intracranial pressure to increase

2. Due to the patient's autonomic nervous system dysfunction, it may cause symptoms such as hypertension, arrhythmia, and hypotension.

3. In severe cases, kidney failure, heart failure, and massive gastrointestinal bleeding may occur.

3. People who have been bitten must do the following: After being bitten by an animal, the wound should be treated immediately (the wound can be cleaned with soap and water), and then immediately sent to the hospital for rabies vaccination (such as inactivated sheep brain tissue vaccine, tissue culture vaccine, inactivated dairy animal brain tissue vaccine and duck embryo vaccine). Be sure to do a good job of prevention.

Note: Rabies patients should be placed in a quiet, dimly lit room, isolated, and try to avoid stimulating the patient. The patient's excrement should be strictly disinfected before being discarded. Avoid eating spicy and other irritating foods, and encourage them to eat more vegetables and fruits.
