Early symptoms of brain tumor: dizziness

Early symptoms of brain tumor: dizziness

Brain tumors, also known as intracranial tumors in medicine, are divided into two types: primary brain tumors and tumors that have metastasized to the brain from other parts of the body. Since many patients lack knowledge about brain tumors, they often seek medical treatment in the late stages of the disease, at which point the best period for treatment has been missed. It can be seen that it is important to understand the early symptoms of brain tumors. Only when we know the early symptoms of brain tumors can we detect the disease in time.

1. Headache in the morning . When you wake up, you often have headache symptoms, which will be relieved after you get up. The headache symptoms will be alleviated or gradually disappear in the afternoon.

2. Decreased vision and diplopia. In the early stages of a brain tumor, patients may experience a brief loss of vision. As the disease progresses, vision may gradually deteriorate or even lead to blindness. In addition, patients may experience diplopia, where any object appears double.

3. Projectile vomiting . When the patient has a severe headache, he or she may experience projectile vomiting. After vomiting, the patient's headache symptoms will be alleviated.

4. One eye is bulging. Exophthalmos is a common symptom of brain tumors. The eyeball of one of the patient's eyes will bulge forward, which will not only cause incomplete eyelid closure, but may also cause palpebral fissures.

5. Unilateral deafness . If there is no history of otitis media or ear trauma, and the hearing in one ear gradually decreases, or is accompanied by tinnitus, it is mostly caused by a tumor in the brain compressing the auditory nerve.

6. Epileptic seizures. If adults develop epilepsy without other external causes, it should be considered to be caused by a brain tumor.

7. Hemiplegia. The symptoms of hemiplegia caused by brain tumors can be divided into two types, one is hemiplegia or hemiplegia, the other is unilateral limb disorder. The former is manifested as less movement or no movement of the affected limb, and the latter is manifested as unstable movement or clumsiness.

8. Acromegaly . Acromegaly is mostly seen in adult patients with brain tumors, and the main manifestations include: thick and enlarged hands and feet, prominent brow ridges and mandible, ugly appearance, etc. Acromegaly is a typical clinical sign of eosinophilic pituitary tumors.

9. Amenorrhea and lactation . If non-pregnant women of childbearing age experience symptoms of amenorrhea and lactation, the possibility of a brain tumor cannot be ruled out. If the patient is a male, he may have symptoms such as impotence, thickening of subcutaneous fat, and loss of pubic hair, axillary hair, and beard.

10. Changes in intelligence and spirit

The patient becomes dull and lazy, suffers from recent memory impairment or even memory loss, and in severe cases loses orientation and judgment, or becomes irritable, easily agitated, and indifferent.

11. Cerebellar and brainstem symptoms

The main manifestations are ataxia, unsteady walking, staggering gait, hoarseness, coughing when drinking water and difficulty swallowing.

12. Phantom Smell

Tumors in the temporal lobe can cause olfactory hallucinations, that is, the smell of an odor that does not exist, such as burnt rice or burnt rubber.
