Bloodletting and cupping refers to a Chinese medicine treatment method that involves bleeding from certain specific parts of the human body through acupuncture and then cupping the bloodletting areas. After bloodletting and cupping, blood clots will usually appear at the cupping site, which is blood stasis. Of course, the different specific manifestations of blood stasis indicate different problems in the human body. For example, pulling out black blood clots means that there is blood stasis blocking the meridians in the human body. 1. Why does cupping cause bleeding? Cupping can maintain health and prevent diseases. When walking on the road in summer, you can sometimes see cupping marks on some people's backs. The cupping fluids will be different for each person. Many people will experience bleeding from cupping. Mild bleeding is normal because cupping is originally a blood stasis therapy. We can see physical illness from the bleeding from cupping. 2. How to operate cupping Take glass fire cupping jars (commercially available) in two sizes: 5.0 cm and 3.5 cm in diameter. First disinfect the acupoint with a 70% alcohol cotton ball, then use a three-edged needle to quickly pierce three points on the acupoint (depth of about 0.5 cm, no overlapping needle holes), squeeze out a little blood, light the cupping jar using the fire-throwing method, quickly put it on the pierced acupoint, leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes before removing it. Treatment is performed every three days, using 2 to 3 acupoints each time, and rotating them according to the symptoms. 3. What problems can be revealed by cupping? 1. If the blood comes out black and ink-like, it is a long-term illness, which means that blood stasis has been stagnant in the body for a long time and has blocked the collaterals. 2. The presence of mucus-like jelly substances in the blood indicates that dampness and toxins are accumulating and stagnating for a long time. 3. The blood discharged is thin and not easy to coagulate, indicating blood deficiency. 4. Blood easily settles and coagulates very quickly, indicating Qi deficiency. 5. The presence of water in the blood indicates rheumatism and liver disease. 6. If the bleeding is very light, it means inflammation and the disease is at the initial stage. Bloody purple indicates a fresh wound. 7. The discharge of transparent aqueous fluid indicates edema. 8. The presence of blisters indicates dampness. 9. Aspirating foamy liquid indicates wind-cold. 10. If the aspirated substance is like meat washing water, it indicates severe chronic dampness. 11. A large amount of bleeding indicates that the disease process is relatively long. 12. A smaller amount of blood aspirated indicates that the onset of the disease is shorter or the disease is located deeper. 13. Slow bleeding, or intermittent bleeding after multiple acupunctures, indicates qi deficiency and blood deficiency. 14. If the pain is relieved by bloodletting during the day but becomes worse at night, it is blood stasis and needs another prick until the pain is relieved. 15. After cupping, put your hand into the cup when taking it out. If you feel a burst of heat instantly, it means that there is a lot of dampness and heat. |
