Lower abdomen feels droopy and I always want to urinate

Frequent urination is a common phenomenon and a symptom that many people have experienced. There are many reasons for frequent urination, including normal increase in urine volume due to drinking a lot of water, or it may be caused by inflammatory stimulation, reduced bladder capacity, psychoneurological frequent urination, urethral and seasonal factors, neurogenic frequent urination, urinary tract inflammation and other special diseases!

Increased urine output

Under physiological conditions, if you drink a lot of water, the amount of urine will increase due to the increase in water intake, and the frequency of urination will also increase, resulting in frequent urination. Under pathological conditions, such as some patients with diabetes or diabetes insipidus drinking a lot of water or with prostatitis, they have a large amount of urine and urinate frequently.

Inflammatory stimulation

Acute cystitis, tuberculous cystitis, urethritis, pyelonephritis, vulvitis, prostatitis, etc. can all cause frequent urination. Under the stimulation of inflammation, frequent urination, urgency and pain may occur at the same time, which is called urinary tract irritation syndrome.

Reduced bladder capacity

Such as bladder space-occupying lesions, compression from the enlarged uterus during pregnancy, tuberculous bladder contracture, or large bladder stones.

Psychoneural urinary frequency

You need to go to the hospital for further detailed examination to clarify the cause and carry out targeted and effective treatment.

Urinary tract and seasonal factors

If you have frequent urination but the amount of urine is not much each time, you do not look painful when urinating, and you have no other symptoms, you should first consider local factors, such as inflammation of the urethral orifice, excessive foreskin, or pinworm irritation to the genitals. In addition, due to seasonal factors, polyuria in winter is a normal phenomenon.

Neurogenic urinary frequency

The bladder detrusor is underdeveloped and the nerves are not sound, which may cause daytime spot polyuria, up to 20 to 30 times, but normal urination at night. There is a tendency of recurring attacks, and urine tests are normal. This disease is not caused by inflammation.

Urinary tract inflammation

If you have frequent, urgent, or painful urination or are experiencing fever, you should consider having a urinary tract infection, such as cystitis, pyelonephritis, etc. Pus cells or a large number of white blood cells may be found under a urine test microscope. In severe cases, there may be symptoms of systemic infection and poisoning, and antibiotic treatment is required.

Special diseases

If frequent urination is accompanied by a large amount of urine, and at the same time there is thirst, polydipsia, polyuria, and weight loss, you should pay attention to check your urine. If the urine contains sugar, you should consider diabetes. If there is no sugar in the urine but the specific gravity is low, you should think of diabetes insipidus. Frequent urination should be treated according to the cause. If it is caused by inflammation, anti-infection should be the main treatment. If it is caused by pinworms, deworming should be given. If the foreskin is too long, surgery can be performed, and if the patient simply drinks too much water, the amount of water intake can be controlled appropriately. In addition, pay attention to local cleanliness and hygiene, and take a bath and change clothes frequently.
