Filter coffee

1. What is filter coffee?

Filtered coffee is also widely known as drip coffee. It is similar to a tea bag, except that it contains ground coffee powder. There are hard paper ears on both sides of the coffee bag, which can be hung directly on the edge of the coffee cup. When drinking, first heat the coffee cup with boiling water, then unfold the coffee bag and hang it on the edge of the coffee cup, then rinse it with hot water from an electric kettle, the coffee liquid will filter into the coffee cup, finally throw away the bag and you can drink the coffee, it is very convenient.

2. Production process

1. Clean the coffee pot

You should first clean it thoroughly with hot water. It is best to use a pot brush to brush every place carefully. If you don’t have a pot brush, you can put ice cubes and warm water into the pot and stir it in a circle. The ice cubes will scrape off the residue on the wall of the pot for you. After washing, fill the entire coffee pot with clean cold water.

2. Add filter paper and coffee powder

Put the filter paper into the filter, and be careful not to bend the edge of the filter paper inward, otherwise when pouring the coffee powder, you may accidentally pour it outside the filter paper, and the result will be a cup of choking coffee. When pouring the coffee powder, you should try to concentrate it in the center of the filter in the shape of a small hill, and don't sprinkle it everywhere. Coffee brewed with filter paper usually cannot be too strong, because too much coffee powder cannot pass through the filter paper smoothly, but will affect the taste of the whole pot of coffee. The amount of coffee powder depends on the type of filter paper and the size of the filter. This usually takes many attempts to find the most suitable amount. Generally speaking, it is between 1/4 and 1/3 of the filter. Half is a bit too much. Another thing to pay attention to is to choose a filter paper of appropriate size to match the filter and coffee powder.

3. Start brewing

Install the filter and coffee pot. If you are using an electric coffee pot, just add hot water and wait for the coffee to come out. If you are hand-brewing, you should start pouring slowly in a circle around the place where the coffee powder is concentrated. The movement should be smooth and uninterrupted. Never pour it directly from the middle. Therefore, it is best to use a small portable kettle to fill a pot of hot water with just the right amount. Controlling the amount of water is also very important. At the beginning, the amount of water can be smaller, so that the coffee powder can be slowly moistened from the surroundings and accumulate aroma. Then slowly pour more water. At this time, you should still pour it in a circle. Always pay attention to the speed of coffee filtering to adjust the amount of water. If you brew well, you will smell the fragrant coffee, and at the same time some tiny bubbles will emerge around the coffee powder in the filter.
