Is melanoma contagious?

When hearing about some malignant diseases, many people's first reaction is: Is this disease contagious? Indeed, for some malignant diseases, if they are contagious, they will indeed make people afraid and stay away from them. There are indeed many contagious diseases in life, so for melanoma, is it contagious? This is what patients and their families want to know, because if it is contagious, then some protective work can be done well. Let's take a look at whether melanoma is contagious.

Many malignant melanomas occur due to repeated rubbing or scratching of moles and some injuries. Some drug corrosion can transform benign moles into malignant melanomas. Benign moles are actually the biggest source of malignant melanoma. However, melanoma is not contagious. It only has genetic factors and is not contagious.

Although melanoma is not contagious, it poses a great threat to the patient's life and has a high mortality rate. Therefore, once malignant melanoma is diagnosed, it must be treated promptly, correctly and scientifically. If treated early, the prognosis is still good. However, once it develops to the late stage, the prognosis is often poor and the survival rate is short, usually half a year.

For the treatment of melanoma, biological therapy can be combined with surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy. This allows these therapies to play their respective strengths and establish effective comprehensive treatment measures for melanoma, which can better improve the efficacy, control the development of melanoma, and strive to achieve the best prognosis.

Note:

From this we can see that melanoma is not contagious, so patients and their families can rest assured, but it is a malignant disease and is very harmful, so patients must go to a regular hospital for standardized treatment in time to achieve good results.
