What is Argon-helium cryotherapy for prostate cancer

Argon-helium cryotherapy for prostate cancer The American CRYOCARE argon-helium cryotherapy system is a minimally invasive ultra-low temperature cryoablation medical device for tumors. It is the crystallization of aerospace guidance technology, that is, argon cold isolation technology applied to the medical field. Clinically proven, argon-helium targeted therapy technology can effectively treat solid tumors such as prostate cancer, kidney cancer, lung cancer, and liver cancer.

Argon-helium cryotherapy for prostate cancer is to insert 2-8 cryotherapy superconducting knives into the prostate through perineal puncture under the guidance of rectal ultrasound, and insert temperature probes at the prostate tip, around the urethra and in the pre-rectal space. The argon-helium cryotherapy system is turned on to make the temperature of the surgical site drop sharply to about -160 degrees, and then continue freezing for 10-15 minutes, and then quickly rewarm to about 20 degrees, repeating two cycles, killing prostate cancer cells through ultra-low temperature and rewarming. Argon-helium cryotherapy for prostate cancer can not only achieve the effect of radical tumor cure, but also has small surgical trauma, no bleeding, only local anesthesia, fast recovery of patients after surgery, and little impact on patients' quality of life. It has been increasingly widely used at home and abroad.

The main indications at present are:.

1. Radical cryotherapy: suitable for patients with low-risk prostate cancer and prostate volume less than 40 ml;

2. Palliative cryotherapy: It is suitable for palliative treatment of metastatic prostate cancer and can prolong the patient's survival and improve the quality of life;

3. Salvage cryotherapy: Suitable for salvage treatment of local recurrence after radical prostatectomy or radiotherapy.
