How to manually express milk

How to manually express milk

For female friends, they all need to enter the breastfeeding process, and in the early stage of delivery, women's milk is very vigorous. At this time, the fetus eats less, so women often feel breast engorgement. At this time, they need to discharge some milk by themselves and store fresh milk for the baby. Therefore, they need to master some tips for manual milk discharge. So how can they discharge milk manually?

There are 5 steps to manual milking:

1. Place: Place your thumb, finger and middle finger about 2.5-4 cm behind the nipple.

The place where your fingers are placed is not necessarily on the outer edge of the areola, because everyone's areola is different in size. Place your thumb above your nipple and your other two fingers below it, forming a letter C shape. Below where your fingers are located must be the milk sinuses where milk is stored. Remember, don't cup your hands to support your breasts.

2. Push: Push towards the chest.

Do not spread your fingers apart. If your breasts are large, lift them up first, then push straight toward your chest.

3. Rotate: Rotate your thumb and other two fingers forward as if you are going to make a fingerprint.

The rotation of the thumb and fingers compresses and empties the milk sinuses without damaging the breast tissue.

4. Repeat rhythmically. Repeat the above movements rhythmically to discharge the milk in the milk sinuses. Release, push, turn; release, push, turn.

5. Rotate. Rotate the position of your thumb and two fingers to express milk from other sinuses. Both hands should be used on each breast.

Avoid these actions when milking

1. Do not squeeze your breasts to avoid bruising them.

2. Do not pull the nipples and breasts to avoid tissue damage.

3. Do not rub or massage your breasts to avoid burning the skin.
