How to treat heel fracture

How to treat heel fracture

When people are subjected to some external force, bone fractures are very likely to occur. If you have a heel fracture, the first thing you should do is go to the hospital for examination and treatment. Repositioning treatment is then required. Generally, when a heel fracture occurs, the patient needs 3 months to recover. During this period, patients should reduce the force on the affected area to reduce the burden on the bones.

The first thing the human body needs after a fracture is reduction treatment. Reduction is to restore the displaced fracture ends after the fracture to their normal or close to the original anatomical relationship. This plays a role in restoring the bone framework, and surgical reduction is generally adopted in clinical practice.

After the fracture is reduced, if it is unstable, it will easily shift again. Therefore, different methods need to be used to fix it in a satisfactory position so that it can heal gradually. Commonly used fixation methods include: plaster bandage, traction and braking fixation, etc.

When the patient has recovered for a certain period of time, he can perform limb muscle exercises under the doctor's arrangement. This can not only prevent muscle atrophy, but also promote fracture healing and restore the function of the injured limb to its normal state before the fracture as soon as possible.

Note:

It is recommended that people develop a good attitude in their daily lives and avoid excessive mental tension and stress. At the same time, increase physical exercise appropriately and eat a healthy diet reasonably. Can stay away from the harm of disease.

Treatment principles

Crack fractures without obvious displacement can be simply fixed and treated with plaster or a small splint. The injury can heal quickly and usually has no sequelae after healing. However, if the crack fracture is displaced again, surgical treatment may even be required.

Causes

1. Direct violence

When violence directly acts on a certain part of the bone and causes a fracture of that part, it often causes a fracture in the injured part, often accompanied by varying degrees of soft tissue damage.

2. Indirect violence

Indirect violence can cause fractures at a distance through longitudinal conduction, leverage or torsion. For example, when one falls from a height and lands on one's feet, the trunk bends forward sharply due to gravity, and the vertebral body at the junction of the thoracic and lumbar spine is subjected to the folding force, causing compression fractures (conduction effect).

3. Cumulative strain

Long-term, repeated, minor direct or indirect injuries can cause a fracture in a specific part of the limb.
