What shouldn’t be eaten with preserved eggs?

Preserved eggs, also known as songhua eggs, are a common ingredient in daily life and many people like to eat them. However, most people are not fully aware of what preserved eggs should not be eaten with. In fact, there are 6 kinds of food that cannot be eaten together with preserved eggs. The first food that cannot be eaten together is vinegar.

1. Vinegar

Preserved eggs cannot be eaten directly with vinegar because they are alkaline foods and will form precipitation with the calcium in vinegar, making them difficult to digest and may cause severe poisoning.

2. Turtle

What shouldn’t be eaten with preserved eggs? Soft-shelled turtle is one of them. Soft-shelled turtle is commonly known as water fish, turtle and round fish. Soft-shelled turtle cannot be eaten with preserved eggs because preserved eggs contain a large amount of lead, which will affect the original nutritional value of the soft-shelled turtle and cause a large amount of nutritional value of the soft-shelled turtle to be lost. Therefore, in daily life we should pay special attention not to eat preserved eggs and soft-shelled turtle at the same time.

3. Mulberry

Mulberries are rich in nutrients, containing large amounts of glucose, fructose, multiple vitamins and minerals such as calcium, phosphorus, iron, zinc, copper, as well as citric acid, malic acid, tannic acid, pectin and precious "anthocyanins". But mulberries cannot be eaten with preserved eggs, otherwise you will get poisoned!

4. Plums

We are now accustomed to eating a small piece of fruit before meals. Among the fruits before meals, there may be plums. Therefore, I suggest that if there are both preserved eggs and plums on your table, I suggest you eat one of them and save the other for the next meal. This is good for your body. We mainly eat plums fresh. The lead in preserved eggs will conflict with the nutrients in plums. If they are eaten at the same time, it will cause physical discomfort.

5. Yellow eel

Preserved eggs should especially not be eaten with yellow eels. Although preserved eggs contain a lot of protein, they are alkaline foods. Although yellow eels are also delicious, eating them together with preserved eggs can cause diarrhea and food poisoning.

6. Brown sugar

Preserved eggs cannot be eaten cold with brown sugar because preserved eggs are alkaline food, while brown sugar is acidic. When preserved eggs and brown sugar are eaten together, the acid will combine with the alkalinity, causing an acid-base imbalance. Therefore, the combination of brown sugar and preserved eggs can cause stomach diseases and mild food poisoning. Similarly, preserved eggs cannot be eaten with white sugar or rock sugar.

What shouldn’t be eaten with preserved eggs? Preserved eggs should not be eaten with soft-shelled turtle, mulberry, vinegar, eel, plum and brown sugar. Excessive consumption can easily lead to diarrhea, poisoning and other symptoms.

In fact, as long as you eat it correctly and remember what not to eat with preserved eggs, eating some preserved eggs is still very beneficial to the human body. When eating preserved eggs, you can first peel and wash the eggs, then steam them at a high temperature above 70℃ for about 5 minutes, and then let them cool before eating. At the same time, adding some ginger, garlic, etc. can not only remove the astringency of the preserved eggs and enhance the taste, but also kill bacteria and disinfect, and promote health.
