There are small brown spots on the face

If a person finds small brown spots on his face, this is the freckle phenomenon. There are many reasons for freckles, and there are also different types of freckles. Common types of spots include chloasma, freckles, pigmentation, etc. The causes of these types of spots are different, but invariably they are extremely difficult to remove once they form on a person's face. So what are the different reasons for the brown spots on different parts of the face?

The location of the spots depends on the physical condition

1. Around the eyes

Spots around the eyes are often seen in people with emotional instability caused by uterine diseases, excessive miscarriages, and hormonal imbalance. Chloasma growing under the outer corners of the eyes indicates that the shoulder joints are attacked by cold or the neck and shoulder muscles are strained. Symptoms of stiffness and soreness in the neck and shoulders are common, so you must be alert to neck and shoulder diseases. Spots on the hairline are related to gynecological diseases, such as female hormone imbalance.

2. Forehead

Spots on the forehead are often seen in people with abnormalities of sex hormones, adrenal hormones, and ovarian hormones. Spots on the temples and corners of the eyes are related to weakened thyroid function, pregnancy, menopause, neurosis and severe psychological trauma. If there are chloasma on both sides of the forehead and temples, it is mostly caused by liver and gallbladder dysfunction, liver depression and qi stagnation, and often accompanied by symptoms of weakened digestive function and insomnia.

3. Chloasma on both cheekbones

Patients with chloasma on both cheekbones are often accompanied by shortness of breath, fatigue, palpitations, chest tightness, decreased digestive function, and even symptoms such as loss of appetite, abdominal distension, and diarrhea, which are manifestations of weakened digestive system and heart function.

4. Middle of the nose bridge

The spots in the middle of the nose bridge are often related to liver qi stagnation, emotional frustration or mental stress. They indicate that the liver fails to discharge qi and the liver and gallbladder are stagnant. You should be alert to fatty liver and liver and gallbladder diseases.

5. Chloasma on the outer side of the jaw

It indicates poor blood circulation in the lower limbs, which is a sign of spleen and kidney qi deficiency. Symptoms include lower limb pain, weak waist and knees, cold hands and feet, and weakened digestive function.

6. Spots on the upper lip

It is a sign of insufficient kidney qi and cold large intestine, often accompanied by symptoms such as constipation and irregular menstruation. You should be alert to uterine and ovarian diseases.

Other causes of freckles

1. Genetic factors

The important reason for freckles is autosomal inheritance. Light brown to yellowish brown spots ranging in size from pinpoints to rice grains, symmetrically distributed on the face, or freckles on the nose.

2. Lifestyle

Bad living habits such as picky eating and lack of sleep will affect the continuous increase of melanin. If you have high stress in life, poor sleep quality, and lack of nutrient intake, your skin's metabolism will be reduced, causing spots to become more serious.

3. Increased pressure

When people are under stress, they secrete adrenaline to prepare for dealing with the stress. If you are under stress for a long time, the balance of your body's metabolism will be disrupted, the supply of nutrients needed by the skin will slow down, and the pigment stem cells will become very active.

4. Friction stimulation

People who have the habit of scratching or itching a certain part of the skin should pay attention. Scratching your skin frequently is equivalent to irritating the skin, which in turn accelerates the production of melanin and causes pigmentation.

5. Secretion disorders

An important reason why women get spots on their faces is endocrine disorders. Changes in sex hormone levels in the body generally occur during menstruation and pregnancy. When there is endocrine disorder, there will often be unstable emotions, which will affect their own metabolic function, and can easily cause the formation of spots and affect the production of melanin.

6. Prefer heavy makeup

Cosmetics contain a lot of metal ingredients and chemical components that absorb light. Some people use cosmetics containing a lot of chemical metal ingredients such as lead, mercury, or added fragrances for a long time, which can easily cause black spots on the skin.

7. Ultraviolet radiation

Sun exposure is the culprit of spots. Spots on the skin are not a problem of age, but the result of long-term neglect of sun protection.

How to distinguish different types of spots

1. Freckles/sun spots

Refers to dark brown spots scattered on the face and other places. After exposure to sunlight, X-rays, ultraviolet rays and even fluorescent lamps, a large amount of melanin is produced, forming mottled pigmentation. Some freckles are hereditary, while others are caused by sun exposure and are therefore also called sun spots.

2. Melasma and butterfly spots

Chloasma, also known as liver spots and butterfly spots, is a type of pigmentation that occurs on the face. Chloasma is mainly caused by female endocrine disorders, mental stress, various diseases, lack of vitamins and endocrine factors such as the ovaries, pituitary gland, thyroid gland, and external chemical drug stimulation.

3. Coffee stains

Café au lait spots are light brown to dark brown spots or patches, like a mixture of coffee and milk, so they are also called café au lait spots. It appears as freckle-like spots about 20 cm or larger, round, oval or irregular in shape, with clear boundaries and a smooth surface.

4. Brown-blue mole

It is more common in women, with the age of onset mostly between 16 and 40 years old, and some patients have a family history. It is deep gray-brown, dark gray or dark brown pigmentation spots, which are round, quasi-circular or irregular.

5. Age spots

Senile plaques, also known as senile warts, are a very common benign skin disease in middle-aged and elderly people. The early lesions are flat papules or patches, skin color or brown. The surface is smooth and gradually increases with age, forming clearly defined spots. The surface may be slightly raised and appear brown or black.
