There are lights and shadows flashing in the eyes

Flashing lights and shadows in the eyes may be caused by floaters, cataracts, and vitreous detachment cannot be ruled out. It can be treated with medication and surgery.

1. Floaters: Most cases of floaters are caused by vitreous liquefaction or posterior vitreous detachment. For some people, it is caused by age. Pathological floaters may cause serious damage to vision, usually manifested as small floating black shadows or flashes. For more serious cases, surgery can be used for treatment.
