We can often judge our physical condition based on our urine, which is what we call urine signals. When our urine is abnormal, we should seek medical attention in time. So how do we judge if there is something wrong with our body? Let us learn about common urine signals below. According to experts, the color of normal human urine ranges from colorless to dark amber, with great variation, which is mainly related to the pH value and pigment concentration of the urine. Normal urine should be clear and transparent when it is just excreted from the body. It may become turbid after being left for a period of time. This is mainly related to the precipitation of some solutes in the urine or cell contamination. Normal urine has no foam and no noticeable odor. Under normal circumstances, the total urine volume per day and night is about 1600 ml. Abnormal urine volume is mainly manifested in oliguria, polyuria and increased nocturia: Oliguria: refers to the total amount of urine per day and night is less than 400 ml. If the urine volume of a child is less than 0.8 ml/hour/kg of body weight, it also indicates oliguria. If the urine volume per day and night is less than 50-100 ml, it is considered anuria. Oliguria or anuria is mainly seen in acute renal failure caused by various reasons, including prerenal, renal, and postrenal acute renal failure. Decreased blood volume and insufficient renal blood perfusion, such as severe diarrhea or vomiting, blood loss or massive fluid loss, heart failure or renal vascular embolism, are common causes of prerenal renal failure; renal failure is mostly caused by various serious glomerular, tubular, and interstitial diseases; postrenal failure often occurs in patients with mechanical obstruction, such as prostate hypertrophy, stones, tumors, etc. Polyuria: If the urine volume per day and night is greater than 3000 ml, it is called polyuria, which is often seen after psychological or compulsive drinking. Insufficient secretion of antidiuretic hormone by the pituitary gland can lead to central diabetes insipidus. In addition, nephrogenic diabetes insipidus is a common disease in adults. Common causes include improper use of diuretics, metabolic disorders such as diabetes, hypercalcemia, hypokalemia, chronic kidney disease such as renal tubular acidosis, chronic tubulointerstitial disease, or congenital renal tubular epithelial cells that are unresponsive or hyporesponsive to antidiuretic hormones. Some polyuria is caused by solute diuresis, such as glycosuria or excessive urea concentration often leads to polyuria. Polyuria may occur after urinary tract obstruction is relieved, in the early stages of kidney transplantation, or during the recovery period of acute renal failure. The above content introduces us to the common urine signals. We should develop and think about them. Don’t wait until our urine becomes abnormal before seeking treatment. We should exercise and have a balanced diet to maintain our health. |
