Is tuberculosis dangerous?

Although tuberculosis is highly contagious, it is very likely to be cured, especially if the patient discovers it early and receives treatment. In ancient times, tuberculosis was considered a terminal illness because of the underdeveloped medical technology. So, is it dangerous to have tuberculosis?

The clinical manifestations of pulmonary tuberculosis vary. Lung yin deficiency, severe lesions have symptoms such as flushed cheeks, high fever and night sweats, blood-streaked sputum, massive hemoptysis, and obstructed breathing.

As early as the Tang and Song dynasties, traditional Chinese medicine identified the cause of the disease, established the principle of nourishing yin and reducing fire, and taking into account the lungs, spleen, and kidneys, and created many effective prescriptions and medicines to cure this disease.
