How to deal with yellowing walls

Do you often encounter a phenomenon in your life, that is, the walls of your home turn yellow for no reason? For new houses, this situation seriously affects the aesthetics and also seriously affects everyone's living mood. There are many reasons for this phenomenon, such as the wall is damp or alkaline, etc. It may also be due to the lack of treatment of the base layer. So how to deal with the yellowing of the wall?

First, how to deal with the yellowing of the wall? Use a putty shovel to scrape clean the damp, alkaline, yellowed and hollow areas. And wait for a while for the wall to dry. If conditions permit, you can leave it for two to three days. Then use a brush to apply two coats of alkali-resistant sealing primer solution. The interval between them is more than 2 hours. Just brush it and leave it for a day. Carry out ordinary putty scraping treatment. The important thing here is not to complete it all at once. Two to three scraping treatments are recommended. Allow one to two days for drying. Sandpaper polishing. When grinding, make sure to keep the surface smooth enough compared to the original surrounding area. Closer primer treatment. After sanding, apply alkali-resistant sealing primer again. Just wait until the wall is hard and no dust falls off. Finally, the walls are sprayed with latex paint. Pay attention to whether the latex paint matches the surrounding color. And make appropriate adjustments.

Second, the possible reasons for the yellowing of the wall: the latex paint on the wall is affected by the climate. Long-term exposure to the sun and the influence of ultraviolet rays will cause the latex paint to change color; the wall base is too alkaline, which will destroy the pigment in the paint film after seepage; salt alkali is precipitated on the surface; if the dark paint film is powdered (i.e. powdering), the color will also become lighter; improper construction, and simultaneous construction with polyurethane paint, the TD1 component contained in this type of paint will cause the latex paint to change color.

How to deal with yellowing walls? Choose darker colors, which usually have better weather resistance and alkali resistance; follow construction specifications to ensure that the alkalinity of the wall base meets construction requirements, especially the repaired parts; strong paint cannot be applied at the same time as oil paint. You can apply latex paint two days after the paint is applied (temperature of 25℃), or wait until the wall paint is completely dry (temperature of 25℃), and then paint after 7 days. Do not use latex and polyurethane paints at the same time. You can apply latex paint two days after painting, or wait until the latex paint is completely dry before applying oil.
