Application: Available in various viscosities. It has high heat resistance, water resistance, electrical insulation and low surface tension. It is often used as high-grade lubricating oil, shockproof oil, insulating oil, defoaming agent, release agent, polishing agent, isolation agent and vacuum diffusion pump oil, etc.; the emulsion can be used for car tire polishing, dashboard polishing, etc. Methyl silicone oil is the most commonly used. After emulsification or modification, it is used in textile finishing to provide a smooth and soft feel. Emulsified silicone oil is also added to shampoos in daily care products to improve the lubricity of hair. In addition, there are ethyl silicone oil, methylphenyl silicone oil, nitrile silicone oil, polyether modified silicone oil (water-soluble silicone oil), etc.

Preparation or Source: An oily substance obtained by hydrolysis and condensation of difunctional and monofunctional silicone monomers.

Dimethyl silicone oil has various excellent properties, so it has been widely used in various industrial and agricultural production departments, national defense industry, scientific research, medical and health departments. It is widely used in electrical insulation, demoulding, defoaming, damping, rolling, dustproof, waterproof, high and low humidity, etc.

1. Application in electromechanical industry: Dimethyl silicone oil is widely used in motors, electrical appliances, and electronic instruments as an insulating medium that is resistant to heat, arc corona, corrosion, moisture, and dust. It is also used as an impregnating agent for transformers, capacitors, and scanning transformers for televisions. It is used as liquid shockproof and damping material in various precision machinery, instruments and meters. The shock-absorbing performance of dimethyl silicone oil is less affected by temperature and is mostly used in occasions with strong mechanical vibrations and large changes in ambient temperature, such as instruments in aircraft and automobiles. It is used for shock absorption, damping, stabilizing instrument readings, and can also be used as a liquid spring in aircraft landing gear.

As a release agent: Due to its non-stickiness to rubber, plastic, metal, etc., it is also used as a release agent for the molding of various rubber and plastic products, and is used in precision casting. Using it as a release agent not only facilitates demoulding, but also makes the surface of the product clean, smooth and with clear texture.

3. As defoaming agent: Because this product has low surface tension and is insoluble in water, animal and vegetable oils and high-boiling point mineral oils, has good chemical stability and is non-toxic, it has been widely used as a defoaming agent in the petroleum, medical, pharmaceutical, food processing, textile, printing and dyeing, papermaking and other industries. As long as 10-100PPM of silicone oil is added, it will have a good defoaming agent effect.

4. Insulation, dustproof and mildew-proof coating: A layer of dimethyl silicone oil is applied on the surface of glass and ceramics, and then heat-treated at 250-300℃ to form a semi-permanent waterproof, mildew-proof and insulating film. Using it to treat insulating devices can improve the insulating properties of the devices; using it to treat optical instruments can prevent lenses and prisms from getting moldy; using it to treat medicine bottles can extend the shelf life of the medicines and prevent the preparations from being lost due to sticking to the wall; using it to treat surfaces can reduce friction and extend the life of the film. 1. As lubricant: This product is suitable for lubricating rubber, plastic bearings and gears. It can also be used as a lubricant for rolling friction between steel and steel, or friction between steel and other metals. However, since the lubricating properties of methyl silicone oil are not particularly good, it is generally not recommended as a lubricant between metals at room temperature.
