There is a piece of flesh growing behind the teeth

Generally, when a piece of flesh grows behind a tooth, it is due to gingivitis, which is caused by not paying attention to brushing your teeth and rinsing your mouth, coupled with the formation of tartar and plaque, which leads to the appearance of this small piece of flesh. Sometimes the small piece of flesh will be particularly swollen and painful, which is unacceptable, and the pain is particularly severe, and it may also cause toothache, so it is usually treated with some anti-inflammatory methods.

Treatment

Gingival polyps (connected to the gums) should first be treated with dental radiographs to see if the teeth are worth treating. If so, root canal treatment should be performed to repair the teeth. Otherwise, they should be removed and replaced with dentures.

Suggestions

First, stop taking the medicine or change other medicines. This is the most fundamental treatment for drug-induced gingival hyperplasia, but the patient's systemic condition often does not allow stopping or changing the medicine. Therefore, it is best to adopt methods such as alternating with other medicines with the assistance of a physician to reduce side effects.

Second, remove local irritants and perform scaling to remove plaque, tartar, and all other irritants. In some mild cases, gingival hyperplasia can be significantly improved or cured after treatment.

3. Local drug treatment For some patients with obvious gingival inflammation, you can first use 3% hydrogen peroxide solution to rinse the gingival pocket, put a drug film or iodine preparation in the pocket, and give an antibacterial mouthwash. After the inflammation is relieved, further treatment can be carried out.

Fourth, surgical treatment. For some cases of severe gingival hyperplasia, even after the above treatment, it cannot be completely eliminated. At this time, surgery is required to remove and trim the gingival shape. However, the surgery should be performed when the whole body condition is stable. If you do not stop taking medicine and maintain oral hygiene after surgery, it is still easy to relapse.

5. Strictly control plaque and urge patients to do a good job of plaque control to reduce the degree of gingival hyperplasia during medication and reduce recurrence after surgery.
