What's wrong with my eyes bulging outwards

Bulging eyes may be caused by diseases such as myopia, hyperthyroidism, and high blood pressure.

1. Myopia: Bulging eyes may be caused by long-term improper use of the eyes. The distance between the eyes when working or studying will cause the eyeballs to bulge outward and cause the distance of the eye axis to lengthen. Patients should go to a regular ophthalmology department for eye tests in time. If it is pseudomyopia, it can be alleviated by adjusting eye habits. When working or studying, the distance should be moderate, the light should be appropriate, looking at more green plants or doing more eye exercises can help relieve eye fatigue. If it is true myopia, you can wear framed glasses to refract the light through the eyes and fall on the retina to increase vision. After adulthood, you can also improve vision through corneal surgery.

2. Hyperthyroidism: After suffering from hyperthyroidism, the eyes bulge outward, mostly due to the increased secretion of thyroid hormones, which causes the body's sympathetic nerves to be in an excited state, and also causes abnormal thyroid antibodies in the body, causing hyperplasia and thickening of the extraocular muscles. The main symptoms of hyperthyroidism are thick neck and bulging eyes. You should take thyroid drugs as prescribed by the doctor, and adjust your lifestyle at ordinary times. Do not eat foods containing a lot of iodized salt.

3. Hypertension: Hypertension can cause lesions in the body's arteries and cause protruding eyes. Hypertension is also a chronic disease and requires treatment with antihypertensive drugs as prescribed by a doctor. Nifedipine should be taken under the guidance of a doctor.
