What should I do if a small piece of my front tooth is broken

A small piece of the front tooth is usually broken when eating hard food or being hit by external force. If a part of the front teeth is missing, it will cause obvious discomfort, which will also manifest itself when eating. In addition, the position of the front teeth is more obvious, and incomplete front teeth look very ugly. Therefore, the solution to this situation becomes a matter of utmost concern. So, what should you do if a small piece of your front tooth is broken? Let’s take a look below.

First of all, this rarely happens with healthy teeth. When teeth suddenly become brittle and fragile, it means that the tooth structure has become unhealthy and has not been discovered and cared for in time. A broken tooth serves as a wake-up call to our body and calls our attention to it.

When a tooth is broken or lost, we should see a dentist immediately for treatment. First, an X-ray will be taken, and then a root canal treatment will be required. Root canal treatment kills the nerve in the tooth and then fills the area under the gum with medication.

Generally, you should not fill or denture your teeth immediately after root canal treatment. Follow the dentist's instructions for further treatment. If it is hot filling, you usually have to wait for three months. After three months, when there is no pain or discomfort at all, you can go for filling or denture. If it is cold charged, the time will be much shorter.

After root canal treatment, the teeth become numb and cannot absorb nutrients from the body. Therefore, we need to take good care of them and not bite hard objects. Since there are already problems with your teeth, you must be aware of protecting them. Even if a tooth is lost, you still need to brush your teeth, brushing gently from the gums.

After that, it’s time to fill the teeth or get dentures. The difference is that different materials are used and the costs will be different. Some prices are very economical and we can accept them. At the same time, the dentist will tell you the materials, differences and possible results of each type, and then let you make a choice. In our concept, the more expensive the better, of course we want to choose good materials. But if the price is really out of our financial range, it is okay to choose ordinary materials.

If the tooth defect is not serious, it can be filled with materials. If the missing part is a little larger, a dental post will be placed on the tooth and then a crown will be placed. If a tooth is missing, you need to replace it directly. I didn’t know what dentures were before. Dentures are false teeth that replace our own teeth and continue to perform their “duties” for us.
