Why do I always have closed comedones on my face

Some people will feel that they always have closed comedones on their faces. This is a more serious skin problem. When it occurs, it will cause some inflammation, which will cause their pores to be blocked, or more oil will be secreted on their face. These are the most common causes of closed comedones, and adolescents are the main group of people who suffer from closed comedones, so more attention needs to be paid during this period.

Overview

There are mainly two types of factors: external factors and internal factors.

Internal factors

1. Excessive secretion of androgen: This is the main reason. Especially during adolescence, excessive secretion of androgen in males and females is the main cause of acne. Androgens can directly stimulate the increase of sebaceous glands, promote the keratinization of hair follicles, clog the pores and cause inflammation, resulting in the formation of acne and pimples.

2. Related to women’s menstrual cycle: For some women, acne worsens before menstruation. It is mainly related to changes in hormone secretion.

3. Internal diseases or functional disorders of the body: lesions of organs such as the stomach, kidneys, and liver, especially gastrointestinal dysfunction and constipation can induce the occurrence of acne.

4. Mental stress, excessive fatigue, lack of sleep, etc.

5. Overeating greasy, spicy and sour foods and sweets.

External factors

1. Improper cleaning: causes pores to be clogged and bacterial infection.

2. Squeezing, picking, and improper needle picking: Some people squeeze acne and cause bacterial infection.

3. Use inferior cosmetics, such as dual-purpose powder, foundation, etc.

4. Ultraviolet rays and certain chemicals, etc.

Symptoms of whiteheads

Due to different individual responses, the degree of damage caused by acne varies, and its clinical manifestations are also different. Some people only experience mild acne, while others develop severe cysts, leaving behind pigmentation and scars. Therefore, acne is clinically classified according to the severity of symptoms:

Grade Ⅰ: mainly comedones, with a small number of papules and pustules, and the total number of skin lesions is less than 30;

Grade II: comedones and moderate papules and pustules, with a total number of lesions of 31 to 50;

Grade III: A large number of papules and pustules, with a total number of 50 to 100 lesions and less than 3 nodules;

Grade IV: Nodular/cystic acne or conglobate acne, with a total of more than 100 lesions and more than 3 nodules/cysts.
