Whenever summer comes, we often see some red bumps on the animals or pets we raise at home. In fact, these bumps are caused by mosquito bites in the summer, and some small animals have some chiggers on their bodies. Chiggers are the most terrifying insects in the summer. If you are not treated after being bitten by chiggers, it can be fatal. So what is the first time a chigger bite happens? If you are bitten by a chigger, it can be very dangerous. There was once a media report that a 4-month-old baby girl almost died after being bitten by a tick. In fact, this is not the first time that someone has been bitten by ticks. When summer comes, the weather is particularly hot and humid. May of each year is the beginning of the chigger outbreak period in my country, and June to September is the peak period. It is very easy to be bitten by chiggers especially when playing outdoors. What does the wound from a tick bite look like at first? Tsutsugamushi "Customs and Practice" says: "The tick is a poisonous insect that likes to hurt people. Ancient people lived in grass and slept in the open air, so when they asked each other about their health, they would always say they were fine." After the tick eggs hatch into larvae, they crawl onto the grass or crops. Once someone sits or touches them, the tick larvae will crawl onto the body and bite them. After the pathogen enters the blood, symptoms of rickettsialemia and toxemia appear, leading to a series of diseases in the body. In May 2012, media reported that two Guangzhou citizens died from tick bites, which triggered heated discussions about ticks among the public. Tsutsugamushi, also known as chiggers and sand mites, can transmit scrub typhus disease. This disease was first discovered and recorded by Ge Hong (313 AD), a scientist in the Jin Dynasty of my country. In animal classification, chiggers belong to the class Arthropoda in the phylum Arthropoda. There are more than 3,000 known species of chiggers in the world, and more than 350 species have been recorded in China. Common species in South China include the ground red chigger, the red chigger and the Indian red mite. Their biggest morphological difference from insects is that the adults have four pairs of legs instead of three. Therefore, it is inappropriate to call it a "small insect". The pathogen transmitted by chiggers is Rickettsia orientalis, a microorganism between bacteria and viruses. Maybe many people don’t know much about scrub typhus, and we don’t have much knowledge about this typhus, so it is difficult to discover the impact of this insect on us. Generally, this insect is in some grass. If you are not careful, the bite of this typhus will have a great impact on the body. Some people even endanger their lives because they did not receive timely treatment after being bitten by scrub typhus. In particular, some people like to play in some grass. In such a place, it is easy to get bitten by insects. |
