What are the mid-term symptoms of liver cancer? Five common mid-term symptoms of liver cancer patients

What are the mid-stage symptoms of liver cancer?

1. Weight loss and fatigue: Liver cancer can damage liver function, reduce digestion and absorption functions, and reduce food intake. In addition, the products of tumor metabolism can cause changes in the body's biochemical metabolism, leading to weight loss and fatigue. The degree of weight loss can worsen, and cachexia can occur in severe cases.

2. Digestive tract symptoms: In liver cancer, the liver function is poor, which leads to increased pressure in the portal vein system and digestive tract dysfunction. Or because the enlarged tumor compresses or involves the stomach, digestive tract symptoms such as loss of appetite, upper abdominal fullness after meals, or even nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, etc. may occur.

3. Pain in the liver area: Pain in the liver area is also one of the common symptoms of liver cancer patients. The pain is more obvious at night. At the beginning, it is mostly intermittent or continuous dull pain or stabbing pain. It may be mild or severe at times, or relieve itself within a period of time, or even disappear. It is mostly located in the right rib or under the xiphoid process, but it can also radiate to other parts, causing discomfort in other parts of the body.

4. Bleeding: In liver cancer, liver function is damaged and coagulation function is abnormal, so bleeding tendencies such as gingival bleeding, nose bleeding, gastrointestinal bleeding, and subcutaneous ecchymosis often occur.

5. Fever: Because tumor tissue releases pyrogens into the blood circulation after necrosis, patients with middle and late stage liver cancer often experience fever symptoms, and the fever pattern is irregular, mostly without chills. Fever is more common in the afternoon, generally around 37.5℃ to 38℃. Most fevers are low to moderate, and a few patients may also have high fevers, above 39℃.
