Eyes become bloodshot when wearing contact lenses

Eyes become bloodshot when wearing contact lenses

In daily life, wearing glasses has become a fashion. Some myopic girls choose to wear contact lenses for the sake of beauty. There are more and more types of contact lenses, and colored contact lenses have also appeared. Some girls who are not nearsighted also wear contact lenses to make their eyes look bigger and brighter. Sometimes when we wear contact lenses, there will be red bloodshot in our eyes. This is our eyes sending us a signal that we should pay attention to eye hygiene.

Because the retina in the human eye needs oxygen, wearing contact lenses or cosmetic lenses for a long time will make the eyes airtight, so the optic nerve needs to be lengthened to allow it to better absorb oxygen. This is the reason for red bloodshot and sore eyes. It is recommended not to wear it for a long time. Severe cases can cause retinal detachment.

Bloodshot is caused by infection or wearing the lenses for too long without enough rest. You can use eye drops.

1. Generally, contact lenses have a wearing period. It is recommended that one year is the best time for long-term wear of contact lenses. However, although the wearing period of the glasses is one year, it is recommended to stop using the glasses after about ten months and to re-configure them.

2. When red bloodshot, swollen or sore eyes appear, stop wearing contact lenses. This will cause bacterial contamination of the lenses and various eye diseases. Severe cases may require surgery.

3. Be sure to pay attention to the cleaning of contact lenses. Put them back into the box in order when not wearing them every day and replace the care solution regularly. Do not let the contact lenses come into contact with dust due to carelessness, and never fall asleep with contact lenses on!

Note: The time of wearing contact lenses every day should not be too long, and eye drops should be used frequently during wearing.

The first harm of wearing contact lenses: reduced eye resistance.

Contact lenses prevent the cornea from coming into contact with air, and the eyes will suffer from a lack of oxygen, which is similar to the human body's "altitude sickness", making it impossible to metabolize normally and reducing resistance.

The second harm of wearing contact lenses: causing visual fatigue and dry eyes.

Wearing contact lenses for a long time can easily cause visual fatigue and even dry eyes. It causes eye soreness and itching, foreign body sensation, excessive eye mucus, dryness, burning eyes and blurred vision.

The third harm of wearing contact lenses: causing eye allergies.

Contact lenses absorb proteins, lipids, collagen, etc. in tears, causing them to deposit on the surface of the lens, breeding bacteria, and causing corneal edema, corneal neovascularization and allergic reactions.
