How to quit marijuana

How to quit marijuana

Marijuana is not unfamiliar to many people. This substance is very harmful to people. The harm of marijuana is not only manifested in the body, but also in the psychological and neurological damage. When one person smokes marijuana, it often affects a group of people, so it is necessary to quit marijuana. Of course, the process of quitting marijuana is relatively long and you must persist. So how do you quit marijuana?

1. The first thing you should do is throw away all your smoking paraphernalia.

If you remove these tools that help you smoke, you may be less tempted to smoke tobacco. Stay away from lighters, matches, cigarette holders, bongs and their containers. Empty all your pockets and make sure you don't have anything left. Flush any leftover weed you have down the toilet, and make sure you don't dig it out of the trash. Destroy all your tobacco smoking paraphernalia. Alternatively, throw tools that can't be destroyed in a gross trash can so you don't have to try to get them back (you can always wrap them in nondescript trash bags first).

2. Tell your decision to quit marijuana to people who support you

v Tell trusted friends and family what you are doing and ask for their support. You’ll likely find that they’re thrilled with your decision to quit cannabis and will support you in every way they can. This advice is especially important if you want to maintain friendships with people who smoke weed. Tell them you're not asking them to quit, but you'd appreciate it if they didn't pressure you to smoke. If you don't feel any support from these smoking friends, or they try to get you to join them in smoking marijuana, then you should consider whether you really need this friend who doesn't respect your choice and ignores your needs.

3. Be prepared for withdrawal symptoms

The good news is that withdrawal symptoms occur in stages: marijuana withdrawal symptoms begin the day after you stop smoking, are most severe two to three days later, and last one to two weeks. [The bad news is that there will be some adverse withdrawal symptoms. You may not experience every symptom, but it is important to plan ahead so you can stick to your plan and not relapse.
