Shelf life of liquid foundation after opening

I believe that when people use liquid foundation in their daily lives, they often worry about expiration. First of all, the shelf life of liquid foundation is very long, normally about 1 to 2 years. If the texture becomes thick or discolored, it needs to be replaced with a new one. The storage time in high temperature and direct sunlight will be shortened, so be sure to store it in a cool and dry place, so that the storage time will be longer.

2. Sun protection: Prevent products from direct sunlight, otherwise it will easily cause oils and fragrances to oxidize and destroy pigments. Cosmetics should be stored away from light.

3. Prevent high temperatures: Avoid placing beauty products in high temperature places. High temperatures above 35°C will destroy the emulsion of cosmetics, causing the separation of fat and water, shrinkage of powder and cream cosmetics, and make the cosmetics deteriorate and become ineffective. But it does not mean that a lower temperature will be more suitable. A constant temperature of 10℃ is the best.

5. Moisture-proof: An overly humid environment will accelerate the reproduction of bacteria in cosmetics containing proteins and lipids, causing them to deteriorate.

If you can do these things, then even if the shelf life has passed, you can still use it for a short time.

So relatively speaking, don't stock up too much! Do what you can! Don't store your skin care products in a humid environment like the bathroom, and don't store your skin care products in the refrigerator at will. Here is another small suggestion: It is recommended to put a label on the skin care products or cosmetics you buy. However, if you really open the bottle and don’t use it in a short time, you can disinfect the bottle cap and bottle mouth with alcohol cotton, then wrap the bottle mouth tightly with plastic wrap (to better isolate the air) and finally store it at a constant temperature.
