Enteritis is also a type of gastrointestinal disease. As the name suggests, its clinical manifestation is that food is excreted quickly, and constipation and diarrhea are common. Especially after eating some fruits, you will feel gurgling in your stomach, as if there is gas constantly coming out. Just go to the toilet to defecate and you will feel much better. So how long does it usually take to cure proctitis? Proctitis is common in people with weak constitution and low resistance, heart, lung, liver, gastrointestinal diseases, respiratory tract infections, infectious diseases, constipation, diarrhea, hemorrhoids, anorectal prolapse, anal fistula, polyposis, anorectal stenosis, rectal tumors, rectal injuries, foreign bodies, etc., which can all cause rectal inflammation. Severe cases require immediate surgical treatment in the hospital. Other factors such as careless diet, such as excessive drinking, overeating of highly irritating foods, inappropriate long-term use of laxatives, excessive corrosive drugs in the anus, and bacterial infections can all cause proctitis. Constipation and diarrhea alternate, the stool contains mucus and blood, and there is burning pain at the anus during bowel movements. Due to the irritation of secretions, the epidermis around the anus peels off, sometimes forming cracks and itching, the lower abdomen is bloated and uncomfortable, loss of appetite, weight loss, and general discomfort : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : In mild cases of proctitis, only the mucosa is inflamed, while in severe cases, the inflammation affects the submucosal layer, muscular layer, and even the tissues around the rectum. Sometimes only part of the rectal mucosa is affected, sometimes the entire rectal mucosa is inflamed, and sometimes part of the colon mucosa is inflamed. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that proctitis is related to "internal plague of damp heat", "diet stagnation", "weak spleen and stomach" and "insect accumulation and dampness stagnation". Proctitis is common in people with weak constitution and low resistance, heart, lung, liver, gastrointestinal diseases, respiratory tract infections, infectious diseases, constipation, diarrhea, hemorrhoids, anorectal prolapse, anal fistula, polyposis, anorectal stenosis, rectal tumors, rectal injuries, foreign bodies, etc., which can cause rectal inflammation. Severe cases require immediate surgery in the hospital. Other factors such as improper diet, such as excessive drinking, overeating of irritating foods, inappropriate long-term use of laxatives, excessive corrosive drugs in the anus, and bacterial infection can all cause proctitis. Common proctitis includes: acute proctitis, chronic proctitis, radiation proctitis, and tuberculous proctitis. Guidance: (I) Conditioning: The patient should have adequate rest, eat light, low-residue, nutritious, non-irritating food, and be in a good mood, combining work and rest. (II) Systemic treatment: 1. Antibiotics can be taken orally, intramuscularly or intravenously according to the condition. 2. Traditional Chinese medicine treatment: (1) In the chronic stage, the body is weak and the main symptom is the discharge of mucus. Commonly used prescriptions include: Radix Pseudostellariae, Radix Astragali, Atractylodes macrocephala, Radix Glycyrrhizae, Papaver rhizome, White Peony Root, Pomegranate Peel, Alum, decocted in water and taken orally, twice a day. (2) When chronic proctitis attacks acutely, it is used to clear away heat and toxic substances, moisten the intestines and promote bowel movements. For patients with tenesmus and frequent bowel movements, Zhishi Daozhi Pills are used to clear away the accumulation. 3. Local treatment: For patients with rectal mucosal edema, the rectum can be irrigated with normal saline, 0.5-1% tannic acid, and 1:5000 potassium permanganate solution. For patients with mucosal erosion, % cortisone acetate solution or 10% silver nitrate solution can be applied. For patients with sphincter and levator ani spasm, warm olive oil can be injected into the rectum. For patients with atrophy and dryness of the rectal mucosa, 0.5% peppermint oil can be injected into the rectum every night. Clinically, 50-100 ml of honey, sesame oil and 50-100 ml of yellow mold solution are used, and enema is retained alternately every other day, twice a day, which has a good therapeutic effect. Suggestion: For patients with long-term proctitis or those who suffer from recurrent proctitis, it is recommended that they take the "Yongcang Heling Antidiarrhea Capsule" according to the course of treatment, and pay attention to their eating habits. Life care: 1. High energy and high protein to compensate for the nutritional consumption caused by long-term diarrhea. The supply can be gradually increased according to the patient's digestion and absorption tolerance. Generally, the energy supply is 40 kcal per kilogram of body weight per day. Protein is 1.5 grams per kilogram of body weight per day, of which high-quality protein accounts for 50%. 2. Vitamins and inorganic salts should be sufficient to compensate for the nutritional loss caused by diarrhea. 3. Limit fat and dietary fiber: Diarrhea is often accompanied by fat malabsorption, and severe cases are accompanied by steatorrhea. Therefore, the amount of dietary fat should be limited, and less oily food and cooking methods should be used. For those with steatorrhea, medium-chain fatty acid oils can be used. Avoid eating foods that are irritating and high in fiber, such as spicy foods, sweet potatoes, radishes, celery, raw vegetables, fruits, and irritating onions, ginger, garlic, coarse grains, dry beans, etc. 4. Eat small and frequent meals: To reduce the burden on the intestines, supplement the nutritional intake by eating small and frequent meals. 5. Meal Arrangement: 1) Use liquid food or semi-liquid food with little residue before and after acute attack or surgery. Food content: Rice soup, steamed eggs, rice flour, milk are generally not recommended. Vegetables and fruits must be prohibited. They can be made into vegetable juice, vegetable puree, juice, fruit puree, jelly, etc. for consumption. Semi-liquid food with little residue can be made of fish, lean meat, eggs containing high-quality protein to make soft and low-oil food, such as boiled fish balls, lotus porridge, chicken shredded dragon beard noodles and bread; 2) For patients who are seriously ill and cannot take food orally, tube feeding or intravenous nutrition support can be used, and after the nutritional status improves, oral natural food can be gradually increased. If acute proctitis does not heal for a long time, it will turn into chronic proctitis. If the rectal mucosa and its lower layer are thickened, it is called chronic hypertrophic proctitis; if the intestinal glands and their stroma in the rectum are atrophic and changed, it is called chronic atrophic proctitis. |
