Many people are afraid of fractures. If fractures are not treated properly, they can cause great harm to the body and affect daily activities. Middle-aged and elderly people are especially afraid of fractures. There are many good ways to prevent such problems. The most common one is diet. Eating more vegetables and fruits is very helpful for strengthening bones. In addition, calcium supplements should be taken long-term to avoid osteoporosis. So what kind of nutritional supplements should be given for fractures? It is best to give some protein powder, collagen calcium, and deep-sea fish oil to patients with fractures, which are very helpful for the body's bone recovery. Clinical manifestations 1. Systemic manifestations (1) Shock: For multiple fractures, pelvic fractures, femoral fractures, spinal fractures and severe open fractures, patients often suffer from shock due to extensive soft tissue damage, massive bleeding, severe pain or concurrent visceral damage. (2) Fever: There is a lot of internal bleeding at the fracture site. The body temperature rises slightly when the hematoma is absorbed, but generally does not exceed 38°C. When the body temperature rises in an open fracture, the possibility of infection should be considered. 2. Local manifestations Local manifestations of fractures include specific signs of fracture and other manifestations. 3. Specific signs of fracture (1) Deformity: Displacement of the fracture ends can cause changes in the appearance of the affected limb, mainly manifested as shortening, angulation, and lengthening. (2) Abnormal activities: Parts of the limbs that cannot move under normal circumstances will show abnormal activities after a fracture. (3) Bone crepitus or bone friction sensation: After a fracture, the two broken bones rub against each other, producing a bone crepitus or bone friction sensation. The diagnosis can be confirmed if any one of the above three signs is found, but the possibility of fracture, such as impacted fracture or fissure fracture, cannot be ruled out even if these three signs are not seen. In general, do not check for these signs for diagnostic purposes because this may make the injury worse. examine 1. X-ray examination Anyone suspected of having a fracture should undergo routine X-ray examination, which can show incomplete fractures, deep fractures, intra-articular fractures and small avulsion fractures that are difficult to detect clinically. Even if a fracture is obvious clinically, X-ray examination is necessary to understand the type and specific circumstances of the fracture, which is of guiding significance for treatment. X-rays should include frontal and lateral views, and must include adjacent joints. Sometimes additional oblique, tangential or corresponding parts of the healthy side are required. 2. CT examination CT examination can be performed for patients whose fractures are unclear but cannot be ruled out, those whose spinal fractures may compress the spinal nerve roots, and those with complex fractures. Three-dimensional CT reconstruction can classify fractures more intuitively and conveniently, which is very helpful in selecting treatment options and is currently commonly used in clinical practice. 3. MRI Although it is not as good as CT scan in showing fracture lines, it has unique advantages in showing spinal nerve root and soft tissue injuries. It is now widely used in the examination of spinal fractures. |
