Most of the zippers that people often use are single-head zippers, which are very simple to use. However, for the sake of convenience, double-head zippers are now used on many items. For example, double-head zippers can often be seen on larger travel bags used for traveling. There are obvious differences between double-head zippers and single-head zippers. In comparison, there are many techniques in using double-head zippers. How to zip a double zipper? 1. First, make sure that the two pull heads of the double pull are parallel to the top at the bottom. 2. Insert the latch part (the side without the zipper head) into the zipper head, making sure it is fully inserted. 3. Just pull up the zipper head on top. What should I do if the zipper of my clothes splits after zipping up or the zipper breaks? You can try to use pliers to make the zipper seam smaller in the direction of the red arrow in the picture below. You can adjust it several times to make it smaller. If it still doesn't work, you can change the zipper head. Take off the zipper head of the old clothes in the picture below. As shown in the picture below, remove the top of the zipper with needle-nosed pliers, and the zipper head will be removed. Use the same method to remove the top zipper on the other piece of clothing and remove the broken zipper head. Install the good zipper head, as shown in the picture below, the clothes can be zipped up, and then sew a thread on the top of the zipper so that the zipper cannot be pulled out. The cutting pattern provides two templates, one large and one small. The large one is used to cut the outer fabric and lining, and the small one is used to cut the adhesive interlining. The surface fabric and the adhesive-bonded auxiliary cotton are ironed and bonded first, and then cut. After the lining and the fusible interlining are cut one by one, the fusible interlining is ironed and bonded to the center of the lining. You can use No. 3 or No. 5 zippers, and then trim them to about 21.5cm long (including about 1.5cm seam allowance at both ends). Measure the width of the zipper you are using, and then cut the same width of the base. The length of the base should be about 27.5cm (including the 1.5cm seam allowance at both ends). If the net length of the zipper is less than 20 cm, the length of the bottom circumference can be extended as long as the net length of the zipper + the net length of the bottom circumference = 46 cm. If the length of the zipper is shortened, the position of the cutting edge on both sides of the paper pattern should also be changed downwards: if the zipper length is shortened by 1cm, the cutting edge position should be moved up by 0.5cm, and so on. Cut a small hole in the middle of the two zippers and the bottom hem to mark them. Then use the template to mark the middle and side points of the two pieces of fabric. This point on the side will be used to align the connection between the bottom hem and the zipper → Fold the edge of the lining inward along the edge of the fusible interlining, iron it, and then use a small template to make 4 marking points on the lining → Sewing 1. Sew the bottom hem and zipper together as shown below. Note that the front of the zipper should face the top fabric, and the seam allowance must be the same as the one reserved → Turn out the two sewn bottom edges → 2. Fold the strap or small cloth ring in half and sew it to the side of one of the bottom edges, note that this is the end where the zipper head is when the zipper is closed → 3. Put the two bottom edges together and sew them together (the side with the straps). The seam allowance should be narrower (about 0.5cm). If it is too wide, the thickness of the bag will be reduced and the capacity will also be smaller. → 4. Now, start installing the partition wall in the middle of the bag. Here you need to use two pieces of lining, one for the front and one for the back, and wrap the seam allowance of the bottom hem in the middle. The seam allowance of the lining has been folded in advance. At this time, you need to sew the seam between the lining and the bottom band with a hand needle, aligning it with the corresponding marked points. You can use a standing needle or a hidden needle → After sewing one piece, turn it over and sew the other piece → 5. Next, sew the two pieces of the bag and the bottom together. First, turn the inner fabric of half of the bottom hem outwards, take a piece of outer fabric, and align their 4 marked points → When sewing, use the bottom circumference as the working surface. The seam allowance of the bottom hem should be narrower, the same as when you sewed the two bottom hems together previously, otherwise the width of the two sides of the zipper will be asymmetrical~~but the seam allowance of the outer fabric should still be the same width as on the paper pattern. You can also use half backstitch or backstitch for hand sewing → 6. After sewing, trim the seam allowance at the corner, and then take a piece of lining to cover the seam allowance here → Point-to-point alignment, still using vertical needle hand sewing → 7. After completion, turn this half over and sew the other half of the bag and the last piece of lining in the same way → 8.Completion. |
