Dermabrasion

Under local or general anesthesia, use a dermabrasion machine or a high-speed dental electric drill to drive a steel sand grinding head to grind the tattoo. It can be used to remove relatively shallow tattoos, but tattoos that have reached deep into the dermis are difficult to remove completely. In order to obtain better therapeutic effects, the normal skin other than the tattoo pattern should also be appropriately abraded during the abrasion. The author feels that for tattoos with some text patterns, a smaller grinding head should be used for grinding. Because of the coarse grinding head, it is difficult to accurately remove the text pattern, and it is also very harmful to normal tissue.

Skin and soft tissue expansion for tattoo removal

The operation is divided into two stages. In the first stage, an expansion capsule is buried under the subcutaneous or muscular layer of the normal skin near the tattoo. Liquid is injected into the capsule regularly to make it swell. The surface skin is stretched and expanded to produce "extra" skin for repairing the defect.

Electrocoagulation

The principle is similar to laser. The tattoo is burned with an electric knife, and the pigment falls off along with the necrosis of the surface skin.

Laser is used to remove tattoos, and the effect of tattoo removal is very good. In this tattoo removal method, light is emitted into the dermis, turning the pigment particles into powder, making them jump higher and larger, and then being absorbed and removed by macrophages. If the tattoo pattern is darker, it can be repeated many times, constantly changing the wavelength of light, so as to achieve the effect of tattoo removal.
