This product has certain antibacterial activity against Neisseria gonorrhoeae, but penicillin-resistant gonococci are also resistant to tetracycline. This product has good antibacterial effect on Gram-negative bacteria such as Vibrio, Yersinia pestis, Brucella, Campylobacter, Yersinia, etc., has no antibacterial activity against Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and has certain antibacterial effect on some anaerobic bacteria, but it is far inferior to metronidazole, clindamycin and chloramphenicol. Therefore, it is not used clinically. Over the years, tetracyclines have been widely used.

Tetracycline tablets can mainly be used for infectious acne, but are not very effective in treating acne caused by other endocrine disorders and other factors. Tetracyclines should be the first choice for oral antibiotic treatment, and lymecycline should be the first-line choice; polycycline and minocycline can be used as second choices; and first-generation tetracycline can be used as the third choice. Erythromycin, clindamycin, and sulfamethoxazole can be used.
