The fetal heart rate is 170, is it a boy or a girl?

The fetal heart rate that people often talk about actually refers to the fetal heartbeat. As we all know, the fetus in the mother's belly also has all the life characteristics, so it will have a heartbeat like an adult. Experts say that under normal circumstances, the fetal heartbeat range is 110 to 160, so if the fetal heartbeat is 170, it means that the fetal heart rate is too fast. This problem needs to be taken seriously. So what are the reasons that cause the fetal heart rate to become faster?

The fetal heart rate is 170, is it a boy or a girl?

For first-time expectant parents, after the pregnancy is confirmed, they will be very curious about the gender of the fetus in the belly, whether it is a boy or a girl. Some people say that the gender can be determined by the B-ultrasound examination report, some say that the gender can be determined by the sugar screening results, and some say that the gender can be determined by the nt fetal heart rate. So, does an nt fetal heart rate of 170 mean it is a boy or a girl?

nt fetal heart rate 170 is it a boy or a girl

nt refers to the nuchal translucency, which is the maximum thickness between the skin and subcutaneous soft tissue on the horizontal sagittal surface of the fetal cervical spine. NT examination is also one of the diagnostic bases for early Down syndrome screening. The purpose of the examination is to diagnose chromosomal diseases and detect fetal abnormalities caused by various reasons at an earlier stage of pregnancy. Checking the thickness of the fetus's cervical spine through color ultrasound is a routine examination to rule out fetal malformations.

The normal fetal heart rate is strong and powerful, at 120-160 beats/minute. The fetal heart rate can increase by 10-20 beats/minute when the fetus moves. If the heart rate is continuously higher than 160 times/minute or lower than 110 times/minute, it is abnormal. Therefore, a fetal heart rate of 170 is abnormal, indicating that the fetus is suffering from intrauterine hypoxia.

In general, the NT test is an early pregnancy malformation test, and the fast or slow fetal heart rate cannot tell whether the fetus is a boy or a girl.

How to identify the sex of the fetus

1. B-ultrasound. In B-ultrasound images, the genital characteristics of men and women are different, and judgment can be made based on this difference. However, the accuracy of B-ultrasound judgment is only about 85% to 90%. The judgment also depends on the doctor's experience, so the accuracy rate varies slightly. This method can usually detect the fetus after 4 months.

2. Amniocentesis. When the fetus reaches 15 weeks, each 1 ml of amniotic fluid contains nearly 10,000 fetal cells, so at this time these amniotic cells are taken out and the chromosomes are analyzed, so that the sex of the fetus can be determined. However, this is an invasive examination method and has the potential for trauma.

3. Chorionic villus sampling. The chromosome karyotype of chorionic villus cells is consistent with that of the embryo, so the sex of the fetus can be known through testing. This method can determine the sex of the fetus at around 10 weeks of pregnancy with an accuracy of over 90%. However, this method has a certain chance of causing miscarriage and may also harm the fetus.

In fact, expectant mothers should not care too much about the gender of the fetus. Whether the fetus in the belly is a boy or a girl, it is your own flesh and blood and the continuation of a beautiful life. In addition, since the country prohibits the identification of the gender of the fetus, expectant mothers should maintain an optimistic and cheerful mood during pregnancy, which is not only beneficial to the health of pregnant women, but also allows the fetus to grow healthily.
