How to correct upturned upper lip

How to correct upturned upper lip

A perky upper lip can be corrected through dental correction or orthodontic surgery. The specific correction method needs to be decided based on the individual's actual symptoms, because the correction plan will be different depending on the symptoms.

1. Teeth correction: The outward curling of the upper lip may be caused by protruding teeth. You can go to the dental department of a regular hospital and take oral X-rays under the guidance of a doctor to check the growth of the teeth. If the teeth are protruding, you can correct them by wearing braces. The teeth can slowly return to their normal position and improve the occlusion between the teeth, thereby achieving the effect of correcting the lips and restoring the lips to normal. However, it takes a long time to correct teeth, usually about one and a half to two years.

2. Corrective surgery: If the teeth grow normally but the lips are still upturned, it may be caused by enlarged adenoids or lip deformity. It is recommended to go to the ENT department of a tertiary hospital and do relevant mouth examinations under the guidance of a doctor. If it is caused by enlarged adenoids, surgical correction can be performed to remove the excess adenoids and achieve the effect of correcting the lips.

After the operation, you need to clean and care for your lips, choose liquid and semi-liquid food as the main diet, and go to the hospital for regular check-ups.
