What should I do if I develop facial arthritis?

We all know that our muscles can become inflamed, but sometimes our facial joints can also become inflamed, which not only causes us severe mental and physical pain, but is also difficult to treat. There are many causes of facial arthritis, and correct diagnosis and treatment are necessary to find out the cause of the inflammation so that the right medicine can be prescribed. Today we will talk about what we should do if we develop facial arthritis?

1. Symptoms of facial arthritis

Once symptoms occur, timely treatment is required. Initially, the affected joints will show signs of redness, swelling, pain, and difficulty in movement. Over time, the joints will become deformed or ankylosing. Traumatic arthritis is mostly caused by trauma or continuous chronic strain, which leads to degeneration of articular cartilage or formation of bone spurs, and manifests as swelling, pain and movement disorders in the affected joints. It is prone to occur in weight-bearing joints such as shoulders, knees, ankles and other joints, and is more common in athletes and young and middle-aged people.

2. Cause analysis

(1) Osteoarthritis is the most common joint disease. Osteoarthritis has many names, such as hypertrophic osteoarthritis, degenerative arthritis, degenerative arthritis, proliferative osteoarthritis or osteoarthritis, all of which refer to the same disease. Osteoarthritis is most likely to affect the distal and proximal interphalangeal joints of the hands, the knees, elbows and shoulders, and the spinal joints, while the wrist and ankle joints are less likely to be affected. Osteoarthritis is caused by tissue degeneration and cumulative strain, and is more common in obese and overweight middle-aged and elderly people. The most common sites of disease are the knees, fingers, neck, lumbar spine, etc. The main symptoms are joint pain and stiffness (the pain will be relieved after slight activity). In severe cases, joint swelling, muscle atrophy, etc. may occur.

(2) Rheumatoid arthritis is a common acute or chronic connective tissue inflammatory disease characterized by migratory soreness, heaviness and pain in the joints and muscles. It is mainly caused by problems with the patient's own immune system, or the influence of living environment and eating habits. Judging from the symptoms and onset time you have described, your father's rheumatoid arthritis may be caused by his own immune system deficiency. If it is delayed further, it will increase the difficulty of treating rheumatoid arthritis. Rheumatoid arthritis is not only inflammatory and painful. Long-term joint inflammation in patients can lead to local joint lesions, joint stiffness, joint deformation, and in more serious cases, difficulty in movement or paralysis.

3. Treatment

Regardless of the cause or type of arthritis, it should be diagnosed and treated early to avoid permanent joint dysfunction or even disability. Depending on the severity of the disease, the treatment of osteoarthritis includes drug therapy, adjuvant therapy and surgical treatment. Surgical treatment is a good treatment option for patients whose disease has progressed to the late stage; for patients in the early and middle stages, drug treatment is generally used in combination with other auxiliary treatment methods. We must actively take correct and effective measures to treat the disease as early as possible and control the condition as early as possible.
