How to prepare penicillin skin test solution?

Medicines are necessary materials for treating diseases. Medicines are special substances for various diseases. They are very effective in suppressing viruses and eliminating inflammation. For example, penicillin is a powerful anti-inflammatory drug and is very popular in the field of modern medicine. However, penicillin is not suitable for everyone. Before use, a penicillin skin test must be performed to determine whether the patient is allergic to penicillin. Let’s take a look at how to prepare penicillin skin test solution?

First of all, you need to be clear about how many units of skin test solution you want to prepare. One unit of penicillin is 800,000 units. Under normal preparation, each 0.1 ml of preparation solution contains 20 to 50 units of penicillin. This depends on your own preparation. It is best to use integers, such as 20 units or 40 units.

What I am going to prepare for you now is 20 units of penicillin per 0.1 ml. The key point of preparation is to remember three draws and two pushes.

Dissolve the stock solution: Take a 5 ml syringe, draw 4 ml of normal saline (0.9% sodium chloride) and inject it into the penicillin to dissolve and shake well. The concentration of the solution is now 200,000 units (800,000 units divided by 4).

First draw: Take a 1 ml syringe, draw 0.1 ml of the original solution in the bottle, add saline to 1 ml (1 ml of saline on the scale is 0.9 ml, 0.1 original solution + 0.9 saline), draw some air and shake well, now each 1 ml contains 20,000 units of penicillin (200,000 units, 0.1 is drawn to get 20,000 units)

Push once and then push away 0.9 ml and the remaining 0.1 ml. At this time, each 0.1 ml contains 20,000 units of penicillin

Second extraction: (0.1 original solution remaining + 0.9 normal saline) extract 0.9 ml of normal saline and shake well. At this time, each 1 ml contains 2000 units of penicillin.

Second push: push away 0.9 ml, leaving 0.1 ml. At this time, each 0.1 ml contains 2000 units of penicillin.

Third extraction: (0.1 original solution remaining + 0.9 normal saline) Draw 0.9 ml of normal saline and shake well. At this time, each 1 ml contains 200 units of penicillin and each 0.1 ml contains 20 units of penicillin.

Finally, push the skin test solution to an entire scale when venting, such as 1 scale, 0.9 scale, 0.8 scale, etc., so that you can easily and clearly push 0.1 ml when injecting. When putting labels on, do not stick them on the scale.
